Five Loaves is a great place for a young person on a tight budget to eat. The prices are more than reasonable and you can get a half sandwich ( a normal size poboy/wedge at most delis) and a cup of soup for around $10, While the prices are superb and the service timely, the food needs improvement, especially considering... We go here often for lunch. The menu offers really good, healthy fare that is very diverse and interesting. Interesting sandwiches and salads. Offers a 1/2 soup special with salad or sandwich which is very reasonable. Every soup is delicious, especially the tomato, basil bisque with crab garnish and the chicken Mexican soup. A soup trio provides a nice sampler... More

Visited on New Years Day. Was crowded, but handled well by the staff. Advised that our party of four would have a wait of approximately fifteen minutes, we were pleasantly surprised when our table became available almost immediately. Service was prompt and pleasant, despite a packed house. Menu was varied and there were literally six or seven fresh soups on... More

We stopped by on a Charlestown day trip. Had an excellent chicken salad sandwich on really good home made bread. Operations are generous. 1/2 sandwich & 1/2 salad was plenty. I thought it was a great value.

My husband and stopped here for lunch on our quick trip to Charleston. The place was highly recommended by locals so we gave it a try. My mozzarella, roasted red pepper, asparagus salad. That was delicious. I also got the roast beef sandwich which was not as good. The roast beef was so rare it was practically raw, and so... More

Found online as a vegetarian friendly option. It was busy for a Wednesday evening but worth the wait. Cozy set up, friendly staff. The Thai hot pot was good and so was the fish dish my family member ordered. Avg. Price & casual atmosphere Definitely recommended

My wife and I enjoyed a light dinner at Five Loaves our first evening in Charleston. We both had a half order of chicken cobb salad which was very good. My wife had the black bean soup and I had the potato soup. The black bean soup was great, but the potato soup was not so good - I had... More

Each time we are in Charleston, we go here for lunch. Today we had another superior lunch that included Chicken Salad Club Sandwich, Ham and Brie, Reuben Sandwich, and a Chicken salad, and Tomato Basil Soup with Crab. Each item was outstanding!

I tried the Kale Cesar, the potato-broccoli-cheddar soup, and the portobello burger. It was all awesome! I'll be back!

Cozy ambiance, friendly service, and awesome food. The servings are huge, 1/2 salads and sandwiches are more than adequate. I had a wonderful anjou pear with blue cheese salad, and a bowl of mexican chicken chile soup. The raspberry iced tea is superb, as were the smoothies. The BLT is amazing, thick slabs of bacon and real cheddar cheese. Tomato... More
