We loved this restaurant. It was so fresh. I had the tomato tarragon soup with crab. It was terrific. You must go to this restaurant.

Highly recommend Five Loaves. Good food, good service, great value! This is a place that if we lived in Charleston we'd return to regularly.

Went to Charleston with friends and was seeking a good vegetarian take out meal and was pleasantly surprised by this cute cafe. The food was delicious and while we didn't sit and eat in the cafe it looks like a nice and casual place to have a date! Try the Thai noodles!

My wife and I were visiting Charleston, staying in Harleston Village, and looking for a local eatery. This spot was the perfect solution. The food was excellent, the atmosphere casual and comfortable. The only issue was waiting outside on a chilly January evening. The place is well known among the locals and is popular. Once inside, we had an excellent... More

The waffles were amazing got berries on the top. Homefries were great. just needed to be a tad hotter. Mushroom burger was delish. Never knew the smoothie shop and the restaurant were connected. We waited 45 min . But it was worth the wait.

My wife and I were in Charleston for one night and asked the bartender in our hotel to recommend a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. We both very much enjoyed our meals. She had the Thai coconut hot pot, a mix of vegetables and noodles in a Thai coconut broth. I had the pumpkin seed encrusted salmon, which was cooked to perfection. Not... More

Wife wanted to go to Vegas. I said I would rather die. Charleston (which we had never been to before) was our compromise. Our first evening we read through reviews here and chose Five Loaves Cafe based on proximity and not wanting to go to a large establishment. We parked a few blocks away (by accident) and walked, but that... More

What a diamond in the rough. My wife and I picked this place from trip advisor. The walk from our hotel was a bit challenging in a couple aspects but.... the food and service were outstanding. It is a small local restaurant that seems to cater to the eclectic crowd of a neighborhood. Old, young, couples, kids, take out-you name... More

This tiny cafe was recommended by the desk clerk at our hotel and it is definitely worth getting several blocks off King Street to find this little out of the way eatery. It's a gem. It was well past the lunch hour when we arrived and even then, there was only one table available. Folks kept showing up the whole... More
