A chance meeting on my flight down to Charleston with the chef, Steven, drew us to the restaurant. Steven was such a charming, nice guy, that we decided to have lunch at Palmetto Cafe. We had a spectacular meal with spectacular service. John Scott was our server and he was a true southern gentleman and very accommodating. Carnetha, was so... More

We wanted a traditional Thanksgiving buffet and this was possibly the best we have ever enjoyed. Wide selection, great service, great table. Pricy but they made it clear that gratuity was included.

My wife and I remember our first high-end (read: pricey) brunch we splurged on nearly 30 years ago. At $27 per person, we felt every bit of our income level. So fast forward to November 2016, and at Palmetto, the price was the same, but the selection and quality of food was much better. Our server, Jeff, far exceeded expectations... More

Though we were staying across Meeting St, at the Planters Inn, we were booked for a spa treatment at the Charleston Place, and had discovered the Thoroughbred Club adjacent to the Palmetto Cafe. It looked so bright and welcoming, with an elegant "sunroom" look, that we returned for lunch. We had the Seafood Club and the Shrimp Tacos - Los... More

Just had a great lunch at Palmetto Cafe in the Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston SC. Had She Crab Soup, maybe the best ever. We both had a Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp ans Fried Oysters, great taste and creatively deliverd. The servicce is king in this cafe, feel totally pampered and carfefully attended to. A must when visiting Charleston.

The food was awesome to include the breakfast bar. Omelette's made to order. Great pastries, etc. It was by far the best breakfast we had in Charleston.

Recently on vacation we decided to give the restaurant in Charleston Place a try again - it had probably been 5 years since our last visit. Why did we wait so long?! The lunch was one of the highlights of our vacation. Beautifully appointed space, lovely view of the courtyard, great wine list and fabulous food. I hate to fill... More

We were staying nearby at the Renaissance and opted to have breakfast here on a Saturday morning. It's a little pricey, but the atmosphere is nice, and the $27 buffet provides a great selection and good quality
