If you're in Charleston and want to go where the locals go, a laundromat is going to be the place. Here they have excellent sandwiches and flavored teas and limeades and lemonades that are refillable! You really can't beat that! The guys behind the counter were helpful in selecting the perfect sandwich for each of us and the flavored drinks... More

We almost overlooked this place since it was in a laundromat but thought it was a really cool idea. We had the adult grilled cheese that was delicious on awesome bread! It did take a while to get our food but we were in no rush. A college student told us about this place and we are glad we went!... More

We are from Philadelphia and staying in Charleston for an extended time and took our relatives from Chicago to the Persimmon for the first time. It was a very interesting experience and three of us enjoyed the crab sandwich with plentiful chunks and pieces of crab and no filler. My wife enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich and all remarked about... More

I treat myself for lunch here at least once a month. Curry chicken salad and rosemary lemon tea. Two of my favorites. Great staff, fast service, discount for MUSC employees. Who would think a restaurant in a laundromat. Don't knock it till you tried it. Great place

Cafe is in the front half of a laundromat, making for a very interesting atmosphere. Extremely busy for lunch but the service was super, and the sandwiches were delicious. Ate in at the counter but lots of folks were picking up food for carry out.

Highly recommend the adult grilled cheese and the tomato parm soup if they have it when you go. Don't be afraid that this cafe is in a laundry mat- there is a half wall that separates the two pretty well. Good news- if you spill something on your shirt, a washing machine is not far away! :)

I can't remember when I had a better sandwich. I was there for a late breakfast and got the egg, hash brown and ham. Some kind of cheese and grilled in the pannini press. They are small and they do things right. Service was fast and seating is at a counter. If you have some laundry, put it in before... More

The grilled cheese and tomato soup at Persimmon Cafe is seriously unbelievable! My boyfriend and I went here and we loved it so much that we came back a few days later to get it again. The atmosphere is very laid-back since the place is inside a laundromat, but it is perfect if you want to eat delicious food in... More

This corner store is located inside a laundromat. I wasn't sure when we walked in, but after eating there with our group of 12, I was glad we stayed. We ordered a variety of sandwiches, all very good. The chicken, adult grilled cheese and greek salad with turkey are the most popular and were all very good. Specialty iced teas... More

I stopped in here on my walk home from to the hotel. People aren't kidding when they say you are eating in the laundry mat. However they do have a really nice seating area and I did not feel weird eating alone. The food was tasty and the sandwich was huge. I could only eat half. I cannot wait to... More
