We decided to give this place a try after reading a few Yelp reviews & then having our Air BnB hosts say it was one of their favorite places in the neighborhood. It was a great hang over cure & their cocktails were delicious as well. I would highly recommend the cabbage pancake with egg. We tried a little bit... More

From the outside it is hardly recognizable as a restaurant. But: it is all about the inside! And yes, this is a great place. Don't hesitate, just go. Trust on people who have taken the time to review this place. You won't be disappointed. We had 3 random dishes, with white rice. Rice is described as 'sticky', well: that is... More

This quirky restaurant serves some killer food. Housed in a renovated gas station, it looks totally unassuming from the outside. The dining room feels simple, but hip. The small front patio was full of diners on the night of my visit. The menu was not large, and each dish seemed carefully crafted. I tried the cabbage pancake, topped with a... More

Wow! unique cocktail menu and beers from across the globe (Taiwan & Vietnam). The most unique dishes I have eaten. Please check out the menu, because I am not sure how to describe it. Here is what we had: SOM TUM - spicy green papaya salad with local veg (noodle dish). Okonomiyaki* - cabbage pancake with a farm egg &... More

I would bet my 401k that the cooks are all smokers because the Mapo tofu and the fried rice were profoundly oversalted and painful to eat. Whatever nuance there might have been was lost. Very disappointed

We were only in Charleston for two nights, but we almost went back for dinner a second time. Super interesting food and cocktails. Have had great Asian fusion and Asian street food in other cities, like NYC and Boston, but the food here was even more unique. That said, the Mapo Dou Fu is not for wimps - be sure... More

I'm not trying to be harsh, hell I know people try hard but something has happened to this place. I'm not sure what. I love the look of the outside, i love the inside...but everything that goes into your mouth is just wrong. I have gone to the place about 4 times. I live in Charleston and the first time... More

Stop reading this review. Just go to this awesome hip place and eat. If you want to feel like you're with the "in crowd" and be cool that's fine. It doesn't matter. What matters is that the food is original fresh and completely awesome. I had stuff I didn't know existed or could taste this good. Let me repeat stop... More

Went sure what we were going to expertise here but were really surprised. Food was excellent, really served as small plates to be shared. Papaya said was very generous and delicious. The poached seabass with fried eggplant was outstanding beautiful to look at and better to eat. Most dishes are spicy so be prepared but it's a wonderful eclectic experience.

Try everything and ask for the drink recommendation for each plate. These guys know their stuff and have a true love for food. Their blend of flavors and textures is pure genius.
