If you follow my posts, you know I'm always looking for the best Happy Hour food where ever I am. This time I'm back in Charleston on business one month later and I caught a site in my search that said The Macintosh was ranked #3, Bacon Happy Hour, named because of Chef Bacon. With a Chef named Bacon...I was... More

Loved it. Farm to table. The food is eclectic. Menu changes everyday because it depends on what they get that morning and decide that morning. A good variety of red meat, fish or vegan.

The lighting is a little dark in here but the decor is modern and fresh. We had a lovely dinner - duck and triggerfish, starting with the foie gras and ending with an ice cream sandwich. All of the food was delicious. Not cheap. The service was perfect.

Macintosh is definitely worth a visit when you're in Charleston. We had reservations and didn't have to wait at all. I recommend reservations as this restaurant can get crowded. Our server Jerry was knowledgeable and efficient while not being obtrusive. We ordered trigger fish and deckle beef. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection. This restaurant also has an ample... The food and service is excellent. The beef angus deckle was cooked medium rare as requested and was very tender and tasty. The triggerfish was cooked perfectly and was also an excellent dish. Their wine list is expensive but great wine selections. Good place for a special occasion to say the least.

Had the grouper and it was perfect! Very different set up, but absolutely awesome. Cool laid back vibe in here. Even just stop in for a drink.

Missed reservation by a few minutes, but worth the wait. Friendly hostess staff. Nice atmosphere. Server was a bit under the level of some of the other places in this price range, but nothing too bad. The garbage breakfast was both unique and very good. Huevos Rancheros was an interesting take on a classic, but the homemade tortilla was somewhat... More

The rustic & industrial decor and casual atmosphere are complements to the friendly service. All our dishes were delicious and unique, combining elements of comfort food with upscale additions (Entree example: Seared Grouper with squash, zucchini, cornbread croutons, tomato jam, and fennel salsa verde!). We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and I would recommend arriving early to visit the neighborhood boutiques.

I highly recommend The Macintosh on King St. It is in a lively section of town, the food was fresh and delicious and I believe is farm to table, they change the menu weekly. Service was also great and staff friendly. We sat in the back courtyard which was lovely. Worth a visit for sure!

Arrived at The Macintosh with high expectations. Cocktails at the bar were good. My husband had the deckle entree which was good. I ordered the duck entree. It was served lukewarm and undercooked. It was extremely chewy. When the waiter asked how my meal was, I explained. He sent a manager over. The situation was corrected. However when the bill... More
