I had lunch with my daughter here in May. It wasn't too busy and we didn't have to wait for a table. I had the chicken and dumplings which were very flavorful and not as heavy as I had expected. They were served with slices of carrots and celery in the broth. My daughter had the soup and salad with... More

OK, It's not easy to get in on Saturday morning, but with our pager in hand we wandered the adjacent Farmer's Market for n hour. Worth the wait. All the typical morning dishes. Eggs, pork products, pancakes, biscuits and toast, bottomless coffee. Mimosas too. But for me, it was the Shrimp and Grits Benedict. Two fried gits cakes, fried eggs,... More

We had the shrimp and grits and chicken and dumplings. We didn't like the grits at all and the dumplings were just ok. My spouse liked the she-crab soup. I thought it was too fishy tasting.

excellent service on a busy weekend. They ran out of tomato pie, to our disappointment. When the waiter found one last piece, he comped it to our table. Needless to say, we went back another evening.

Cancer yesterday for the Bulldog Food Tour. I had to comeback. The chicken & dumplings were outstanding. Best ever, different from the way my grandma made them but awesome... so good.

The food at this friendly restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed its southern emphasis and menus. The fried chicken special evening was delicious and reasonably priced. We were also grateful for the help of the staff with our mobile phone issues. A great place.

Made a reservation for a Tuesday evening without knowing that this was the restaurant's southern fried chicken evening. Although not familiar with low country food, the menu looked interesting and the southern fried chicken special looked really good. It was. It was also incredibly good value. Will be searching the internet for banana pudding which was delicious.

Stopped in for breakfast. On King across from Francis Marion hotel and park. Nice quiet place for breakfast. Eggs Benedict were nice and runny with a Tabasco hollandaise. Yum. Country ham was very good, maybe a little salty as expected. Service was very good and price right on. Looking forward to go back for dinner.

We visited this restaurant as it was one of the first ones we came to on King after taking a city tour which ended at the Visitors' Center. Had my first taste of she crab soup. It was excellent, but later in the week I had others that were better. It's a small, intimate restaurant with about a dozen tables... More

This place was recommended to us by staff at the Charleston Visitors Center. It is an easy walk from there. We had brunch. My omelet and biscuits were very good. My husband had steak and eggs. He said the steak was to tough but overall we were quite satisfied with portion sizes. The prices were equal to similar restaurants in... More
