When dining at Le Central it will be like dining in Paris! The setting reflects a French bistro even with the soft music. You can enjoy lunch, dinner or brunch on Sundays. Everything is prepared by the gifted chef, Jessie. The soups are extraordinary and...so are the desserts. Fish and meat dishes are fresh. The avocado, shrimp salad is a nice lunch. Dinner can include the organic chicken, lamb or salmon just to name a few. Definitely a hidden gem in Bristol, RI!More

The title says it all, this place was simply amazing. We went to celebrate my admission to university, and had an amazing time. Wonderful ambiance, out of this world food, and excellent service. We all tried bites of each other’s dishes and every single entre...was delicious, and deserts blew us away too. Their Oysters are fresh and particularly delicious. 10/10, definitely going there again.More

An exceptional New Year's Eve dinner. Menu choices were mouth watering, food was prepared expertly and service was excellent. Price made the meal a bargain.

Everytime we are in the Bristol area we try to stop in. Saturday we went to a wedding just up the street and had time for a quick lunch. We informed the server as to our time restrictions, about 30 minutes. My wife ordered the...soup and sandwich and substituted onion soup for the the two offered and enjoyed it, she loves the bread. I had the duck mouse and it was delicious. We love the place.More

I took my daughter here for lunch and we both got the soup and half grilled cheese sandwich combo, which was listed on the menu as $10. We both asked for a slice of tomato on our half sandwich. When the bill came, I saw...we were charged $12 for each meal. I asked the waiter to clarify the price and she said the extra $2 per half sandwich was for the tomato. Now, I don’t want to begrudge anyone fairly earned payment, but this is absolutely ridiculous. There was one thin tomato slice on each of our half sandwiches, meaning we were charged an extra 20 percent! That means $4 plus tax for two measly slices of tomato. I told the waiter that I thought that was outrageous and she said, “I don’t set the price.” Wrong answer! She should have agreed how outrageous the markup was and adjusted the bill. My daughter is going to Roger Williams in the fall and you can bet we will not be eating here again. You’ve lost a customer, even though the soup was delicious. The sandwich tasted like it had been grilled on an old grill with rancid oil.More

We had onion soup, patè, Moroccan chicken, and lobster Mac and cheese. It was packed beautifully. We had candles and wine to perfectly fit the meal. The people at le Central were so grateful and so were we.

Listen I've been a few times and I have to say that I enjoyed the general experience: the low music, the food, the quiet and elegant atmosphere, the service. However, the special wine list is insulting; the list has two tiers with regard to its...pricing. The $21 glass of white wine should be such a heavier pour. When I asked for a second glass of the lesser and [slightly] less expensive pour, I received a drip at the bottom of my glass. Seriously, people - don't embarrass yourselves. Also, offer a nice Ridell or equivalent (i.e. a SPECIAL) glass when a customer orders a $21 glass of wine. Many fine dining restaurants do that. Just sayin. I will probably not come back for awhile.More

American_french restaurant with a limited menu. We had dinner in a cold evening, the room is not very well lit and if you sit by the window it is also cold. I had a terrible French onion soup, the rest of the family tried all...different dishes, nothing to write home about. I believe in this part of the country they should offer some of the local seafood dishes as well, or hire a real French cook.More

Four of us for dinner. Two of us had the special for restaurant week. First course was pate campagne which was quite good, although a lot for one person. The main course was boeuf bourguignon which was very disappointing. This was not a classic meal,...instead of a stew it was a piece of meat overcooked, very dry with a sauce on it. It wasn't good at all. The dessert was a chocolate mousse which was outstanding. One of our party had the duck which he found very disappointing - he did like the chocolate mousse. Over all not a great meal given the meat that was so dry. I won't be in a rush to go back.More

But I wonder why. Their bistro style menu is full of interesting items (very nice onion soup) and the service is always prompt and friendly. My wife and I have never had an unsatisfactory experience. You should give it a try.

Atmosphere, service and wine feels french in the best way. Unfortunately, probably because of a poor choice from the lunch menu, the food I ordered was not good. I know my choice of lamb hash was a dish designed to get rid of last night...dinner leftovers, but the meat was recooked and tough as well as overwhelmed by large portions of root vegetables cooked in a butter/ oil mix and served in a cast iron ramekin. I wish I could visit again and try something else, perhaps for dinner, because I think my experience may not be typical of the place; be that as it may, my lunch was poor in concept and execution. I should add my wife ordered and enjoyed a standard salmon dish.More

We had our stay in Newport and enjoyed it. One particular day, we decided to make reservations for Bouchard, but they were closed. We were determined to still find a French type restaurant. We found it in the form of Le Central in Bristol. And...we're glad we went while we were still on vacation. It was a classy experience. We both had our perspective duck entrees and desserts as well as drinks. Very enjoyable. It was a bit pricey, but it was worth it. If I go back to Newport for vacation again, I'll be coming here again. :)More

We had a delicious dinner here. They had a lot of vegetable options to swap out carbohydrates which was a welcome change from salad! The entrees ( lobster and lamb) were beautifully prepared. Ambient restaurant and good service. Wines are very well priced and they...offer a nice selection. A good choice in Bristol.More

We ate dinner here on a Monday night, a normally slow restaurant night. For most of the evening wee were the only people in Le Central. They did a reasonable take-out business. Very nice French inspired menu with reasonable prices. Same for the wine list....The simple house salad used the freshest greens and just the right amount of dressing. It was excellent. The grilled rack of lamb was perfectly prepared and a very generous portion. Now for the 'lows." Based on reviews I was looking forward to the Moroccan Chicken. Again, perfectly cooked but the spice blend (perhaps Raz el Hanout) had an odd taste, a bit musty. Not sure why. It made the dish just OK. The real low was dessert. The "Warm Apple Tart with Vanilla Gelato" was a square of puff pastry covered with thin slices of apple. It arrive flat and burned and really iinedible. Perhaps it was frozen and on a slow night they just did not give it enough time to defrost. To their credit, when this was pointed out to the waitress she took it to the cook and they took it off the bill. We will probably be back, but we will probably pass on dessert.More
