Had dinner there in town for a football game. The filet was very good but the reviews on the pheasant were less than good. Two friends split the beef bourignon which wasn’t really beef bourignon and was more like short ribs and the kitchen skimped...More

Last night, a couple of friends and I travelled to State College to have dinner with an old friend who was in town. She had picked Zola Kitchen & Wine Bar for our dinner venue. I had eaten there once, about two years ago, and...More

Overall the food was good, service was mediocre and the price was expensive. We couldnt get a reservation until 830pm, arrived early and wouldnt you know there were 12 empty tables for most of the evening. would have liked a larger selection of proteins, as...More

The service this evening at Zolas was abysmal! It's as if the servers were never trained. This was a favorite restaurant that we will question whether to go to again. Sad about our experience.

I am so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your celebration at Zola. If you have a chance to call the restaurant to let us know what we need to improve, we would love to try and make it up to you.

This is one of the priciest venues in town. So expectations are (and should be) high. We've been there twice in a month and we're disappointed both times. Quality isn't what it was. Oysters are very good. Bread is good. Tomato bisque was good, not...More

When you have more wait staff than you do customers, you know there is a problem. Zola in its various incarnations has always been pretentious. Having a staff member dedicated to bringing a small piece of (bland) bread to each person is a bit much....More

3 * is an extremely generous rating. As you can see my reviews worldwide, I tend to rate places well and give credit for deserving experiences. Previously unequalled in State College, which is a culinary challenged town, as surprising as that may be. We have...More

In September of 2016, we had a 5 star experience. This year, the food was a huge disappointment. First the menu choices were a bit scant. The only proteins available were trout, snapper, a half a roast chicken, a $110 imported Wagyu steak, beef tenderloin...More

We were in State College for Arts Fest and were excited to try Zola's on the first night in town. It didn't disappoint. The food and service were excellent. I really liked that they had a super Tuscan on the wine list and that I...More

Zola's was touted as the best in State College. However the recommendation came from a friend whose kids went to PSU 5 years ago. Management and chef apparently have turned over since then. Menu is very limited. My husband wanted the trout but we were...More
