If you like fried fish this is a must visit if you're in Pittsburgh. Bring an appetite because the sandwiches are large. Don't miss the free parking across the street. Check the web for hours as they don't stay open very late.

Wholey's offers fresh fish, seafood, and meat in the retail store. They also have a wholesale business. You can also buy fish sandwiches, etc. Many workers buy their lunches here. Worth the trip.

Robert Wholey's most popular attraction seems to be the hot food inside of the store. Unfortunately, since there was a long line, I was short on time and stomach space, I didn't get a chance to try any of the seafood sandwiched I read such good things about. Instead, I tried the lobster rolls they were selling outside. For $7,... More

Wholley a has the best fish sandwich in the Burgh. This is a grocery store that also serves food like a cafeteria line. I always run in to get it to go. The fried clams are delicious! The lobster mac and cheese is out of this world. And the fish sandwiches are fried right in front of you. You can... More

Been going to Wholey's for well over 30 years. This is one of the best, freshest fish sandwiches ever made. The onion rings are delicious and the Lobster Mac & Cheese is incredible. Anything sold in the kitchen area is always fresh and good. If you are in the Strip District don't miss Wholey's!

My daughter & I visited Pittsburgh for a Steelers/Panthers game @ Heinz Field. A co-worker who was from Pittsburgh & another who lived there several years both told her not to miss Wholey's because they made the "best fish sammich you've ever tasted". They were right! Although there were many offerings we both chose the Cod sandwich because it was... More

The freshest seafood you can find in Pittsburgh and at a great price. I had the best fish sandwich I have ever had, and I live in Florida.

I cant believe how bad and unsanitary Wholeys is. Retired strip district executive, this place was where all the retail fish started but its history has always been full of poor quality, unsanitary and rodent invested. My wife had never eaten here so after 12 years, i took her for a whiting sandwich...whiting is the cheapest fish on earth and... More
