My party of 6 came across Salem's Market while looking for something to eat. We loved the variety of options they had. Portions were fairly large and the food was very good with Middle East and Indian options. Price was very reasonable. It is cafeteria like system where you get your food, you pay and then you sit at a... More

The food is decent, works like a takeout restaurant in which you can sit and enjoy your food as well. Don't make your expectations high in decorations and the environment.

Working in the Strip District offers many options for lunch, but nothing raises ears more than "Anyone want to go to Salem's?" Between the cafeteria style items, to the burgers and gyros, their food is always on point and the Indian dishes are positively amazing. In addition, having a market next store with a fantastic meat counter is definitely a... More

I've become a fan. This is best place to buy fresh meats (beef, lamb, goat, chicken). The butchers (very friendly people) clean out fat, remove skins, and chop them to pieces as specified by the customers. Best thing is they know the farm sources, hence I get all fresh meat here. The goat and lamb are particularly superb. The market... More

Very fresh and always good! Friendly staff and fair prices, I eat there once a week. I love the Tandoti chicken and spinach pander. Great fresh ground burgers too.

This is one of my most beloved restaurant/markets in the Pittsburgh area. It's a well stocked halal market that offers a wide variety of spices, seasonings, produce and a meat market. They even butcher meats from their vendors or, if you're a true farmer, they'll butcher your animals. The restaurant is superb. The consistency and quality of the food is... More

Went to Pittsburgh for a short trip with the family. Looking for halal food. Ordered Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, Chicken Tikka Plate, Cheese Beef Burger and Lamb chop. The cheese beef burger really stands out. Fresh grill and the beef patty tastes home made Others are Ok. Price is also reasonable. Free parking next to the shop. Also, ordered spinach pie.... More

Cafeteria-style establishment attached to a grocery store and Halal butcher shop. Can't miss it - giant place covered in colorful murals. They always have a variety of Mediterranean and Indian dishes served piping hot. You can order hamburgers, kabobs, and nan as well. The atmosphere is basic -- like a school lunchroom with TVs and a few pictures of mosques--... More

So you go there for the best falafel, tabouli, baba ganoush and lot of delicious hot prepared foods. Great service. The market has freshest meats and produce and sells Pittsburgh's best pitas. Gotta take home the spinach pie!

Thank Mary B
