Wanted a good breakfast, walked in, sat at the solo diner bar space up front, proceeded to be ignored for ten minutes, finally the guy who runs the place puts a water in front of me and asks me if I want coffee, I said Yes, waited another 5 minutes, no coffee, got up and left. Can't say anything about... More

Cherries Diner is a hidden gem right next to Market Square. The diner is small, but the wait wasn't very long when I visited. The breakfast was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

We were in Pittsburgh for a family conference and decided to try Cherries for breakfast. This place is small, folks, but worth the wait! I felt sorry for our waitress, as she was the only one working at the time. Somehow, she managed to serve us with a smile on her face! I would recommend one thing, but everything we... More

My husband and I each had "The Kitchen Sink" omelet and shared a side of pancakes. Omelet was terrific, not too big and not too small with a little of everything inside- great flavor and served with a side of toast. Pancakes were tasty as well, on the thinner side with crispy edges, perfect sweet ending to the meal in... More

A pancake stuffed with cherries. What more really needs to be said? All right; we came in back in February. Got the last table - my only problem with the place is how tight the quarters are - got us some coffee, got us more pancake than we could handle. Almost sickeningly good! Really. Super good. The sort of meal... More

GAL says: This is a great dive tucked around the corner from the PPG building. One of the few restaurants opened on a Saturday morning, it was the perfect option within walking distance from our hotel. It only seats parties up to 4, and only about 6 of those. There are seats at the counter as well. Service was fast... More

I was staying at a near-by hotel and wanted a quick affordable breakfast. Everyone I talked to said "Cherries." It is a no-frills diner. You enter and grab a table. The waitress--and there is only one--comes by and asks if you want coffee. Say yes and a large steaming cup is slammed down. I said this was a no-frills sort... More

Curious about this diner tucked in a little nook surrounded by a sea of chain restaurants, I stopped in for breakfast one day before work. I instantly fell in love. The simplicity of this place is charming, and I walked out feeling nostalgic about an old diner in my hometown that is now long gone. Food is good, fast, and... More
