Coming from Toronto and the Dosa choices there, this was very ordinary. The utthapam was dry, the coconut chutney was bland, sambar had green peppers (this reminded me of hostel days and not in a good way). Food here tasted way better when I visited Pittsburgh from New Hampshire, I guess :)

Every visit to Pittsburgh's East Suburbs include a visit to Udipi. The place has a consistent local following and never disappoints. Every different item I have ordered I would eat again. I am not an Indian food expert and yet have always been delighted with my choices.

I recently went here with a friend. The food is fabulous. This is the best Indian Restaurant in Western Pa. in my opinion. They use many delicious spices and we enjoyed the sampler. They make this wonderful potato bread that you can dip with. Even the latte was superb. We plan to return soon!

The ratio of tasteful decor to tasteful food is lower than one mainly because the quality of the latter is outstanding, and partly because the former is the sum of two rows of bare-bones diner-style laminated-top dimly-lit tables in bare-walled surroundings. Upon entering, the host does not appear for a while, and when he does, he is almost bewildered by... More

Everything I have ever had here is so good. Actually all I ever order is dosa's, Aloo Gobi and Palak Paneer. So good I've never tried anything else. Order the poori's.

Very closely located to S V Temple Pittsburg , Udipi Cafe provides tasty authentic South Indian Vegetarian dishes. Heavily crowded guests waiting time is long. However it deserves waiting. Major disadvantage is the wash /Rest Room which is not adequately provided. We enjoyed our Lunch and Dinner there.

I haven't been a fan of Indian food....but this place is amazing. Everything is made to order....it is always filled with Indian people - which to me means it is authentic - and good! You must try it ...you wont be disappointed

I am not vegetarian, neither is my husband. We come here when we have a craving for tasty curries and spicy chutnies. Love this place. My husband says "When I want Indian in Pittsburgh, this is where I go." Wish they would fix the lock on the ladies bathroom, though.
