The menu isn't huge, but there's a nice variety including interesting specials, all of which reflect locally sourced, fresh seasonal foods. One member of our party needs gluten free and he was easily accommodated since items are prepared in house without filler. Since he couldn't...More

The title should say it all. Excellent farm to the table dinner cooked to everyone's specifications. Service was outstanding. If you like a nice local meal in a warm and comfortable setting......this could be a great choice.

Excellent service from entry to exit. The braised beef was melt in your mouth perfect. The clam and corn chowder was also delicious. A quiet intimate setting for a couple or a group.

This is definitely a fine-dining establishment, but still fun and enjoyable. The decor is lovely, the wait staff friendly and classy, and the food impeccably prepared.

My husband and I really enjoyed our recent dining experience at John J. Jeffries. We started off with the cucumber salad and shared the arctic char entree. Both were delicious and the portions were large enough for us to share. Definitely recommend John J. Jeffries....More

There is no children's menu. This is, as the previous response noted, an adult restaurant. I don't recall seeing children there.

I believe there is a vegetarian meal on the menu, I'm sure if you called ahead and asked what vegan options there were - they would accommodate.

During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him.

We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants.
As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant.
All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on fresh green grass pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, steroids or forced-fertilization occurs.

Our produce is local organic or chemical free. We use local grass fed cream, butter and eggs.

We also provide sustainable seafood and support sustainable fisheries.
