We were looking forward to a traditional pub dinner but were very disappointed. Will think twice about ever visiting again! What a shame as the pub has great atmosphere and potential to be a real winner!

I know this is meant to be a historic pub but some areas could be modernism. A bit of stainless steel in the kitchen/food area and some control of the 500 million flies would be great. The toilets are disgusting. They need to be ripped out and redone. Service was incredibly slow. an hour for 3 burgers and a plate... More

Awesome place to visit, amazing history behind this place. Very interesting well worth a trip out here. Amazing down to earth good vibe atmosphere.. very relaxing, the bar is abit pricy to what we are used to though paid $7.20 for a schooner but the views and fresh air was well worth it

Called in for lunch and a beer on the way home. Food and beer are fine - if a little expensive - can't say that for the rest of the place though. Grass is unmown, tables falling down and in some places chocked with rocks to hold it up. Umbrellas are shredded from being in the weather, so no shade.... More

We stayed here overnight on a campervan trip heading north. The Tavern has a lovely field at the back where you can pitch up and use of the toilet block all for nothing! The tavern is as you would imagine in a small hamlet is frequented mainly by locals and most of them have tale to tell. We had ice... More

Tired, neglected and so in need of some maintenance. Sat under a dodgy umbrella in the long grass on a broken picnic table next to the soggy remains of someone's meal from a previous visit. All the while thinking that the profits from the $4.50 that they charge for a can of coke are clearly not being spent on maintenance.... More

If you want to walk in, sniff dismissively, and whinge for the lack of an ATM, maybe Wollombi Pub isn't for you. That is what I witnessed a couple of days ago. If you want a full glass of cold beer and a decent burger, both at average prices with great pub ambience, this is your pub. It's always a... More

Approximately 30 klms south west of Cessnock n Pokolbin is the tiny historic village of Wollombi. On our Hunter Valley trip we opted for the back roads from Sydney via Round Corner Dural to Wisemans Ferry, then the vehicular ferry across the Hawkesbury River and once off the ferry turn right. Wollombi is approximately 100 klms or around 2 hours.... More

We always make a stop at this Tavern on our way to the Hunter Valley. It's a relaxing spot sitting out on their veranda sipping a beer. Be sure to try their Dr Jurd's Jungle Juice. Something different.

We had steak sandwiches which were good and made in quickly. The bar was quite characterful and the outside seating pleasant on a nice day.
