With reservations about the possibility of this not really being a Rick Stein experience, we were happily proven that it actually was. From the portrait of "Chalky" on the way in through to his personal comments through out the menu, and with the great service...More

This restaurant trades heavily off Rick Steins' reputation as a passionate advocate for all things seafood, yet under delivers on nearly every count. A large unimpressive space, some views of the ocean and food that simply doesn't come near to Steins obvious love of seafood....More

With high expectations we booked into Rick Stein at Bannisters to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed - in fact we thought the whole experience was far better than when we dined at his Seafood Restaurant in Padstow and that is saying something!...More

Nice food, good friendly and attentive staff, great setting. The restaurant is very popular and booking would definitely be recommended, even for lunch. Seafood is the primary ingredient, however chicken and vegetarian options.

Description
Our restaurant is a reflection of Rick's passion for seafood and the coastal lifestyle which he has enjoyed for most of his life. As Rick says: "nothing is so exhilarating as fresh fish, simply cooked". He believes that fresh seafood should speak for itself. While he enjoys occasional fine dining, his food is much more about what he really likes to eat: a plate of Clyde River oysters, a pot of Illawarra prawns with mayonnaise, a mound of spanner crab, a slice of blue eye or a perfectly grilled sand whiting. We like our service to be informal but observant and we have a local team who will greet you with a warm, genuine welcome.
