From entrees to dessert everything was superb, we were looked after by our lovely waitress Sam who made our evening memorable, the little touches to make us feel special on our wedding anniversary and her food recommendations were spot on. I highly recommend Rick Steins...More

Stayed at mollymook just to go to the restaurant. The waiters were very good, seamless in every way. The food was well cooked but overpriced. I had the Singapore chilli blue swimmer crab which had way too much sauce and made a huge mess of...More

We were really looking forward to this evening’s offerings. Being pumped up by the reception staff about the amazing food, the expectations were high. Unfortunately we really thought the whole experience was just ordinary and couple of dishes being almost inedible. Does anyone taste the...More

We stayed at Bannisters and dined at Rick Stein's both nights. Wonderful, inventive, satisfying menu. We went for a self-styled degustation made up of entrees (which are somewhat addictive). It's not a cheap night out, but it is memorable. Surprising flavour combinations prompt smiles and...More

It's hard to put into words how amazing this restaurant is. My partner and I have both agreed the meal we had was the best we've ever eaten in our lives. We would have no hesitation in driving from Sydney to Mollymook just to eat...More

We had a fantastic dinner. The food was better than we had anticipated and the service top notch. Our waiter really looked after us. Next time we will come for lunch to experience the view and ambience in daylight hours.

I wonder (?) if staff at this establishment do respond when patron express disappointment? Makes one doubly dissatisfied if there is no response! Bill Farrell: (07792565360)

Where did you stay? I am a bit confused as to where the restaurant is in relation to accommodation. What's difference between Bannisters by the Sea and Bannisters Pavillon? We will be visiting from Melbourne (via Sydney) so want to stay somewhere to walk to Rick Stein restaurant. Thanks ;)

I agree with all the answers above. I don't think it is a place for dogs. But ringing Bannisters direct will get you the answers you need.

Description
Our restaurant is a reflection of Rick's passion for seafood and the coastal lifestyle which he has enjoyed for most of his life. As he says: "nothing is so exhilarating as fresh fish, simply cooked". He believes that fresh seafood should speak for itself. While he enjoys occasional fine dining, his food is much more about what he really likes to eat: a plate of Clyde River oysters, a pot of Illawarra prawns with mayonnaise, a mound of spanner crab, a slice of blue eye or a perfectly grilled sand whiting. We like our service to be informal but observant and enjoy employing local people who may lack the total polish of fine dining restaurants, but who more than make up for it with a genuine welcome.Peter Bacon, General Manager
