Disappointing experience on Saturday morning - Half hearted service & very very slow to deliver 3 coffees - busy but not packed out. Then an extremely long wait for 2 serves of eggs - over 45 minutes for those & a bunch of excuses when...we chased them up. Not recommended.More

Absolute cracking place for lunch. We got lucky as the sun was shining and so was the food. Attentive staff, pleasant surroundings and hearty food - perfect afternoon

We went for breakfast this morning and it wasn’t great 😩. We use to frequent The Garden before we moved to Shellharbour last year and decided to take a trip over for breakfast this morning. We ordered bacon and eggs (they had apparently “run out...of poached eggs”), trout scrambled eggs, coffee and scones. Weirdly the scones came out first after 10/15mins and then we waited another half an hour for our breakfast to come. It wasn’t unusually busy and the menu is very small & unchanging so not sure why it takes so long? The quality of the food - well my husband was hungry so he shovelled his in super fast so we could hurry up and leave but the trout eggs were terrible! No seasoning, eggs rubbery and sourdough underneath was all soggy. It’s unfortunate but I don’t see us going back again :( such a beautiful cafe but definitely needs work.More

Decided to go out for dinner as a Mother's Day surprise. Booked The Garden Berry. Walked in, stood by the "Wait to be seated" sign and waited...and waited. No one came, so we walked in to find someone. We were seated outside and it was...very pretty with hanging lights etc. but there was only one other table occupied. Anyhow we ordered drinks and dinner - Prawn & Chorizo Spaghettini for my partner - "Fresh locally made pasta, cherry tomatoes, rocket, basil, capers, Spanish onion, chilli and shrimp oil, parmesan" - sounds delicious, right? Prawns were plump and fresh, but the chilli and Chorizo overpowered the whole dish to the extent that it just wasn't enjoyable to eat. I ordered - Chicken Cotoletta "(a fancy chicken schnitzel!) Chicken breast crumbed with house- made sourdough breadcrumbs, garlic, parmesan and parsley. Served with pickled slaw, chips and lemon." Just what I felt like - but when it arrived the "house-made sourdough breadcrumbs" were burnt to a crisp. The pickled slaw was tasteless, chips were soggy and yes, there was a slice of lemon. We had 2 glasses of Pinot to wash it all down- almost 100 bucks!! Very, very disappointing. We're Berry locals and had been meaning to go for some time. Since our experience we've spoken to a few other locals and they agree - food isn't any good. On that night, Chef had time to cook with love but it appears he cooked with a heavy hand!More

A great place for coffee and scones. And, it's human friendly for dog owners with it's outside seating area at the rear of the café. The food overall is also fantastic too.

The service was good. The restaurant was full when we arrived and there was a 30 min wait but they have a good system where you receive a text message when a table becomes available. We ordered a coca-cola each, and table water. The water...wasn’t chilled. The menu catered to vegetarians and there was not many options, none that really appealed. We ordered a pesto pasta and a steak sandwich. The pesto pasta had peas, zucchini and shaved Parmesan cheese. It was a little flavourless and could have done with some bacon as an option. Pasta was cooked well however. The steak sandwich was very nice and flavoursome. Outdoor seating was lovely although we drew the short door and our table was in the corridor. Overall it was a nice place to have lunch. The garden area has a great feel and is much nicer than having to eat indoors.More

We had Baked Brie starter and the barramundi and Chicken cotoletta (a fancy schnitzel). Service was friendly and fast even though it was busy evening. Good range of drinks and nice courtyard out the back. Their COVID protocol was excellent. Strongly recommended

We have been to the The Garden Berry before and it is the one of the best places to visit in Berry. Two things: the food is very good - freshly made, healthy and choices for all tastes. The second is that the service at...lunch was very slow - 1.25 hrs from order to table. We had to ask where our order was and was told it was the next out - 10 mins later. The key for the managers reading this is - keep your customers informed - if there is a delay in service let your customers know before ordering out if delayed let them know. As such I can only rate the overall experience as average.More

We dined here for lunch as a family of four. Staff were efficient and friendly. Food options very good and something for everyone. Coffee very good. Nice atmosphere.

We had the most delicious lunch here! I ordered the Smoked Trout Salad and a Chai Latte and my husband had the Prawn and Chorizo Spaghettini (gf). Both were divine! It was one of the meals where we enjoyed every mouthful and kept uttering little...mmms and ahhhs as we ate. Our waitress was warm and friendly and the cafe was cosy on a cool, drizzly day. We'd go back tomorrow if we didn't live so far away!More
