I walked to the place wanting to make a booking, but was advised that wont be necessary. I still wanted to do it, but staff was reluctant to do it. After return we managed to just get back last table, with one chair. After my husband approached staff member and ask for additional chair, we were advised menu will be... More

Sat and waited for 20 minutes for service. Made ourselves known to the staff twice. Still no service, so walked out. From hearing tables around us, others were upset with service and lack of food options, with many items withdrawn from menu.

...we had a very nice lunch here having walked along the coast from Portscatho. The sandwiches are good and the set menu is quite good value - and the fish and chips were excellent. The Caesar salad was entirely unmemorable, even whilst eating it. Service was very haphazard. There was one brilliant waiter who was supremely helpful and organised us... More

We enjoyed the food and the beautiful view. We were accompanied by three children under nine and the staff treated them very well. After the meal, a very nice waiter enchanted my eight year old grand-daughter by making her a beautiful origami shoe using a napkin. He also made a doll using a napkin and a spoon. The adults were... Sunday afternoon tea and cakes for 4 persons 12/3/17 The selection of cakes turned out to be a trio of slices ( all 4 x plates the same), only 2 of which were barely edible, not sure what one was it didn't taste of anything? the third, a slice of fruit cake was old, dry and currents tasted burned. These... More

Having last stayed at the Nare some years ago, I was not disappointed returning for lunch. Delicious food, superb friendly service. Very good value for the quality of food. Even though a cold grey day in December, lovely sea views. Only wish we could have stayed.

This place has a good reputation among locals and in general the reviews are good. We visited for a Saturday lunch and were generally under-whelmed by the food. The crabcakes tasted of nothing in particular and might just as well have been made with some fairly tasteless cheap white fish; while my wife's Moules Mariniere were hopelessly overlooked and tasted... Sitting in the sun on a lovely autumnal day eating lobster, what more could one ask for. The service was very efficient without seeming to be hurried. Delicious ice cream served with guess what? clotted dream, which of course one ate, as it was there.

Description
The Quarterdeck Restaurant is located at The Nare Hotel on Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula. With spectacular sea views over Gerrans Bay, it is the perfect place to meet family and friends for a relaxed lunch or stylish evening meal. The Quarterdeck has a classical yachting décor, sheltered terrace and a reputation for fabulous food made with the finest local ingredients. We have always been a big supporter of West Country farmers and specialise in locally reared beef and the freshest of seafood caught from waters almost on the doorstep. The Nare's wine cellar is extensive with wines from all round the world selected and laid down by Toby Ashworth, proprietor.
