The pub itself is wonderful, a good Cornish pub that just seems to welcome you in. Food was good, not fine dining but good quality and certainly adequate helpings! Mostly local produce but lacked a little refinement to bring out the best of flavours, could have done with a little less rather than more... Steak had a great flavour but... More

The Polgooth is and always has been a reliable place to eat, consistently good food, generous portions and a friendly atmosphere, particularly cosy in the Winter. We had a good meal for four, no complaints, good service, a good standard, country pub.

This is everything a country pub should be and more. Roaring fire on a cold November night, good selection of beers and wines and friendly staff. What made this so much more was the food. The menu was fantastic with different selections such as pheasant pie. We ended up having 3 courses with some wine and it was all absolutely... More

I have visited 3 times in the last year. The last visit was to bring in the new year. We had dinner from a preset menu. I am still thinking about that wonderful meal nearly a week later. Champagne and Canepes on arrival Starter and Duck for my main course. My mouth is watering at the memory. I am so... More

We were visiting the area for a winter break and found the Polgooth Inn on the internet. We absolutely loved it - a varied and delicious menu, some great beers and very helpful staff. The Polgooth Inn really stands out as one of the best pubs around, which is reflected in its popularity with both visitors and locals.

We visited the Polgooth Inn whilst staying in a holiday cottage nearby and went on the recommendation from the owners. We were not disappointed. On arrival the pub was very busy and it seemed like we would not be able to get a table as there were 5 adults and 2 children in our party) however one member of staff... More

We like the Polgooth Inn as we have three dogs and they and us are always welcome . Also they serve tasty and wholesome pub food all day and the service is very friendly and efficient. It's not Michelin but it's good value and a pleasant experience all round.
