Booked to eat in the restaurant upstairs, can't fault the staff, very pleasant and not too over bearing. Quite a limited menu, although the lobster on the specials was delicious if a little small. Other parties had the steak, which again was cooked to order...More

We have visited Mariners Rock a couple of times and on the last visit we decided to sample some food off the menu which did not disappoint. The beef sandwich was excellent and the spider crab my wife had was delicious and fresh. The Sharps...More

Lovely venue overlooking the estuary. The restaurant has a good menu. I chose local mussels followed by hake in breadcrumbs both of which were excellent and could not be faulted. However, we all felt the service could have been more attentive. We waited a long...More

We were slightly early for our booking, but were welcomed warmly and led to our table with a good view over the Camel estuary. There is a good range of beers at the bar. The starters were good - the crab cakes were excellent with...More

I agree with the reoccurring comments in most other reviews. The menu is limited & prices for the mains are too high. Our starters were really good, but the mains were average. Service is very good and attentive and after my feedback on the hake...More

This was our 2nd visit to the Mariners and found the menu choice limited if not slightly over priced, food quality was quite acceptable. The setting is stunning looking out over the Camel river. What is currently the selling point is its range of ales...More

I've visited this pub many times before it was taken over and I couldn't believe how different it was! We didn't eat - but stayed for about 3/4 hours merrily drinking away outside. There were lots of dogs - but we were with ours so...More

Is it baby friendly? We have a table booked for 7pm in a few weeks for the upstairs but I will have a 6 month old baby who I hope will be able to sleep in her pushchair.

Hi They're very baby friendly. As Keith C suggests being upstairs will be quieter, though a bit more of a 'bustle' downstairs might be less of an issue for sleeping through...? Hope you have a good time, it's a unique... More
