First time visit for us last night a nd a wonderful experience all round. Perfectly cooked scallops, beautiful Brill fillets, a fillet steak perfectly medium rare all complimented by first class service. Oh and house wine was delicious. Well done everyone
For many years we have visited , usually twice a year during our stays in Perranporth. Never have we had a bad meal, never have we disliked our experience. The staff are friendly and make us feel like part of their family.
Nicole is always...warm friendly and humorous!
The food is fantastic and so is the service !More
Had quite a pleasant meal earlier in the week, staff quite friendly and food enjoyable.
Booked for later in the week, tonight (Thursday) for 8pm. Wanted to celebrate our engagement (day before), this place seemed like the correct choice.
When you enter the...establishment, they have signs up asking you to hover by the door to be seated. Covid regulations and precautions.
I agree with these.
There were two more couples in front of us and they were just turning up to get a table on the spot.
Nothing wrong with this.
They were told, well shouted at by an angry waitress to wait outside until they were allocated a table.
As we had booked for 8pm and it was a few minutes to 8pm. We stood just inside the door, then the same enraged waitress approached us and practically chased us out in an aggressive manner, stating "wait outside, wait outside".
I stated I had booked for 8pm, she just stormed off in a huff!
I'd practically spent £100 when we attended two days before. Would of probably spent far more then that celebrating our engagement!
So decided, they didn't warrant the spend.
Walked away and telephoned them to cancel my booking.
Lesson learned, walk away......
The semi genuine courtesy, only kicks in once they realise you will be spending some money......
Disappointed and still peeved.....More
This didn’t start well as when I phone to make a booking I was told quite snappily that they don’t take bookings just for 2 people, but if we came there might be room? I guess they want to fill their tables with the maximum...number of people, but anyway we arrived early and they did fit us in.
We were sat by the door so not only did we have to put up with smokers going in and out and leaving the door open, which meant we had to put a mask on and shut the door but we also had numerous people coming in and out and waiting for take away pizzas.
I didn’t get the romantic couples dinner I was after, however the food was excellent, my scallops were perfectly cooked, and monkfish delicious, so full marks for the chef.
Difficult to rate this as food would be a 5 but service and ambiance would struggle to get a 1.
If you were here for a couple of pizzas as a pit stop it would be different.More
Lovely evening spent here with friends. Food was excellent - a great selection on the menu plus a Specials board - all what you would expect. The service was brilliant - very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. I had lasagne, garlic bread and...tiramisu, and it really was the best I've tasted in a long time. Thank you team! Will definitely visit here again when next in area. Well done!More
I am writing this review to express my severe disappointment.
We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening after previously visiting numerous times over the years.
We were all shocked and stunned by the rude, arrogant, unprofessional attitude from one of the waitresses.
(Dark hair, red...lipstick.)
From the instant we arrived she was curt and condescending. All six of our party were made to feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Upon taking our drink and food orders she was abrupt, derogatory and flippant.
During the course of the evening she removed her face visor then proceeded to lean very closely over a member of our party who is asthmatic.
We ordered deserts, one of which was apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It was plonked in front of my daughter, who immediately noticed it was strawberry ice cream which she dislikes. She asked if she could please have vanilla and the reply was “there isn’t any so you’ve got strawberry.”
My daughter said she doesn’t like it so the waitress said to give it to me. I politely said “no thank you.”
The waitress eventually agreed to give my daughter an alternative. She later gloated and told us she had managed to sell the unwanted desert to another customer. During this pandemic we were horrified at her response.
After being customers for many years we have never experienced anything like it.
We won’t be returning again.More
