One of the only 2 fine dining restaurants in Lostwithiel and yes, it is truly fine dining. Decoration is nothing fancy but very cosy. Super friendly and efficient staff. However, the food stole the spotlight for us. Our starters were plated nicely and more importantly, tasted amazing. Chicken liver was cooked but not dry and went perfectly with the tarragon... More

A real hidden gem in the heart of Cornwall. Forget all your celebrity chefs in Cornwall Asquith's has the best food, service and atmosphere we have found and all very reasonably priced. An ever changing menu with locally sourced and seasonal dishes. Highly recommend the cray fish and potato pakoras, feta and aubergine croquettes or the chicken livers to start,... More

Asquiths doesn't shout. The ambience is delightful, but muted, and the food never makes outlandish claims. But make no mistake, it is excellent cooking. The dishes don't follow the usual trend pattern, but are created by a chef with his own distinct ideas. Nothing is extreme; everything is quietly and skillfully accomplished. Don't look for pyrotechnics - just enjoy the... More

We took our family to Asquiths and once again we had the most delicious meal. The service was exemplary and the ambience lovely. I will return again and again.

Asquiths is a cut above. On their website they deny it's 'fine dining' but it's as close as we get to it down here! (No bad thing). The ambiance is calming & elegant, with a high ceiling & small chandeliers. Napery is immaculate & so are the glasses etc. Service was excellent - sign of a good restaurant when they... More

Asquiths is our firm favourite choice for a special family occasion. We have visited a number of times and the experience is always superb. This visit was no different. On arrival we were warmly welcomed, ushered to our table and on this occasion we were free to take our pick. The main dining area has a pristine feel and is... More

We were staying in Lerryn for the weekend and decided to have a nice dinner out. We'd been to Lotwithiel before but hadn't eaten in Asquith's so gave it a try. It was well worth it. Very polite, efficient service from beginning to end - not hurried, but not slow either. We sat near the fire as we'd been warned... More

We decide to visit the Asquiths last night to have our Anniversary Meal. As with all the reviews it was a "5 Star Evening" from entering the restaurant to paying the bill. We will visit more now, as we only live in the Town. Many Thanks Alan & Julie

12 months ago we booked our "run-away" wedding nearby at The Green Cornwall, Netherton Farm. Living in Essex, we had to set about looking online for somewhere to have our first evening meal as a married couple. We found Asquiths and going by their website and reviews it seemed just perfect. We had with us our two daughters, one of... More
