Came here about a week ago on a wet day after visiting The Hurlers nearby. What a shame that such a beautiful and iconic spot is spoilt by this cafe which could be so much better. Inappropriate jokes of ' what the actress said to the bishop' variety...from the owner, dreadfully jolly signs litter the place, example: 'don't sprinkle, when... More

We asked for hot chocolate made with soya milk. Not a good move. Got told they were a small business and didn't do it. Okay, that was fine. He didn't need to add, 'It isn't Brighton you know!' We left without ordering anything. Surly attitudes do not do well in small businesses.

This is one of the best cafes in the area with excellent service, good freshly-prepared food and reasonable prices. The proprietor is kind, amusing and very efficient. We like going there very much indeed, and would reccomend it to anyone.

Came here with friends after a stroll around the Hurlers and Housemans engine house.Owner was humorous and friendly.Had cream teas and scones which went down very well. And make sure you ask about the sign hanging up by the front door.

A nice little cafe with a reasonable menu. An ideal rest stop after a walk on the moor whether you want a drink, cream tea or something more substantial. You will always get good banter with the owner.

We've been to Hurlers Halt on several occasions and love going there. The food is good, the location wonderful and the owners have a great sense of humour. There aren't many places like this.

My wife who is not English ordered a beer for herself and 2 cokes. The manager brought them out and also brought me a drink no one asked for-which he was well aware of. He then charged us for this so-called freebie . He is not licensed to sell alcohol without food and he certainly should not be pulling scams... More

Extremely disappointing experience during a Cornish holiday. Owner was from Devon. Was making inappropriate, out-dated and foolish jokes to everyone who came in which was unnecessary and quite asinine. I am a good coffee lover and was treated as if I was a fool to ask for a flat white coffee with semi skimmed milk. Owner was rude to me,... More

Nice tea, excellent scones, fine Pasty. Good place to refresh after a wander to the Hurlers and Cheese Wheal stones. Has local info galore and owners are lovely and helpful
