I don't visitThe Waggon regularly and I must remind myself to go more often. The atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed and NOT noisy. The staff are charming and the food is excellent. For this, you expect to pay more that you do for pub food - and you do. The small extra premium however is worth every penny. The Market Menu... More

We had a great time . We had the lovely bury black pudding starter , which was very different . Then we had Sunday lunch which was fab ! Then the most amazing ice cream (liquorice and blackcurrant !). They also do wine by the glass so you can mix and match . Staff very friendly and attentive . A... More

I went here for lunch today with my husband. I have to say that this was the most delicious meal I've had for ages. We had cauliflower, potato and onion soup, then roasted cod with samphire and capers; chickpea patties with aubergine salsa and then liquorice parfait with red fruits and fig and almond crime brûlée. Everything was perfect. Service... More

Our first visit this year but as usual a warm welcome from Lorraine and Lisa. Our first view of the new menu too. For starters I chose my usual Tempura of Chadwick's Bury Black Pudding, whilst the good lady chose Cod Frikadeller, a Danish style fishcake, pickled onions, capers, gerkins and dill mayonaise. Both superb!!! For our main we both... More

Warm and friendly reception. Spacious tables, plenty of room. Although mainly a restaurant, the bar area has been retained providing a nice pub feeling. Food is far above pub meal standard, with locally sourced ingredients.

Fabulous food - chosen from the set priced menu. Great value, tasty additional veg, all lovely and hot and served by polite, non intrusive staff who made you feel it really was their pleasure to serve you. Desserts were all amazingly tasty - including the cheese. Will definitely be going back. Picked up a menu for Mothering Sunday.
