Sitting next to a lock on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal, the pub has an outside area where you can sit and watch the boats navigate the lock. There is a decent size car park and the pub offers meals at a reasonable rate. A...More

Great pub with fantastic service. Ideal setting on summers day with lovely outside seating area. Love the new menu. House specials in evening. Highly recommend. Will be returning. Started doing breakfasts at weekend which I'm looking forward to trying. Teriyaki burger is so tasty.

Wonderful friendly and accommodating. Good beer and ambience. Upstairs and downstairs seating areas. Lovely canal side location. Went with a large group giving them only 40 minutes notice, coped admirably. Would highly recommend this place, brightened our evening.

We ate here two nights on the run and found this pub to be well above the normal canal side standard. The food was really excellent, very reasonably priced and served by friendly and obviously well-trained staff. I can particularly recommend the faggots. Not for...More

Having visited the Lock many times before, we decidedo to go there for Sunday lunch. We wish we hadn't bothered. The food was bad, roast potatoes undercooked, vegetables overcooked, the meal looked as though it had been thrown on the plate and the service was...More

Our visit was spoilt by a rude member of staff who was most unhelpful & really didn't want to serve. If she doesn't want to work there give her job to someone who does!! The other young member of staff was very pleasant & obliging...More

A friendly village pub located on the picturesque Staffs and Worcestershire canal. Our aim is to serve good homecooked food using locally sourced ingredients. All our beef comes from the Bishop family farm located less than a mile away on Blakeshall lane.
