Years ago, I'd be writing about an up-and-coming, must-go sushi joint, but after a lunchtime visit this weekend, nothing could be further from the case. Worn, dirty in sections, unimaginative menu, small portions and not-so-fresh sushi was the order of the day -- won't be back.

I visited this place twice over my 2 weeks business trip. Sushi is average as seafood is fresh, but rice lacks texture/flavor of authentic Japanese rice/chef. Fried rice with beef, chicken and seafood and vegetables is good, but truly is more Chinese than Jap style.

I must say I enjoyed everything about the hibachi restaurant. I come from New York, I'm used to a very impersonal experience. They do an amazing job in NY but lack the touch this restaurant brings to life. It's a home feel. With the children running around in the mist of the restaurant laughing with their parents while you enjoy... More

We were a group of 12 people. Most of us ordered a shrimp dish, and assorted other dishes. The food smelled and tasted greasy. The desert, I can't remember what it was exactly, also not very good. The service, was as bad as the food, staff did not speak English very well. Through the night, those of us who ordered... More

We eat here every so often, Mainly for lunch. We've had sushi and the hibachi, all tasted very good. The hibachi show is getting poorer and poorer. The cooks just go through the motions, if they even preform at all. Again, good food but they need to liven up their cooks.

Ate here with 8 other people, some had issues, some didn't like their meals. Probably the biggest problem was the language barrier. The waitress got someone to translate and that person apparently did not speak English very well. I would look for some place else to eat; I understand that there is at least one other Asian restaurant in the... More

Our 12 member family went to Tokyo Diner for Hibachi dinner last week. Cook puts on a good show, banging utensils, creating a volcano fire using onion rings, bouncing an egg on a long spatula. But the best trick was his ability to shoot small pieces of celery to the mouths of our grandchildren, through the air, using his spatula... More

I always enjoy eating at Tokyo Diner. They have great lunch specials whether you're looking for sushi or hibachi. Mochi for dessert is always my favorite part! The staff is very friendly!

Was hungry for some sushi. Found the food to be good but was rather disappointed because the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license. Sushi without Saki just doesn't work for me.

We have been to this place about once a month, because we like the hibachi experience with the kids and it's close to home. There is on-hibachi options as well as locally made sushi Sometimes it's a 4/5 when the chef is "on game" but consistently acceptable with reasonable amount of food and a good "simple show" for pre-teen and...
