This is one of the better restaurants in Erie. Reservations on the weekend recommended. I had the grouper that was prepared excellently with a side of risotto and broccoli. The sauce was perfect. My husband had the Seafood Florentine. It looked beautiful and tasted even better. They have a well rounded wine list that is reasonably priced. We shared a... More

2 couples out for a catch up visit. No rush the server was engaging just enough to allow us to Enjoy our conversation. Service was timely and complete "We met the Owner nice touch" We enjoyed our favorite wine and each had a recommended appetizer to share (very good ) , dinners were Veal Osso Bucco , Lobster Ravioli ,Fish... The waiter was such a cringe-fest of racism. He spent so much time trying to "entertain" us by trying to pronounce the names of various people at the table based off of their credit card. He actually called one friend a profanity several times insisting he was saying it correctly. He tried to coach me on how to pronounce my... More

Like other reviews, the soup ordered came out ice cold and was reheated with steam coming off but the soup still was luke warm at best. With the server taking the soup off the table still 3/4 full she didn't ask if there was a problem and sending it back twice wouldn't have made sense. We were still charged for... More

We visited on a Friday night between Christmas and New Years Eve. We both had the Calabrese Broccoli. It was ok - kind of like an $8.00 Chinese dinner with 2 scallops and shrimp. Certainly not a $22 (or $27) fine Italian dish. There's an up charge for homemade pasta otherwise you get standard fare. The bread and dipping oil... More

First the good part: the service is pretty good, the atmosphere is quaint and comfortable, and some of the appetizers (we tried several) were nice -- particularly the sausage stuffed peppers. Now the not so good: my soup (pasta fagipoli) came out cold (all of ours did) and was so-so. Main dishes were generally bland. I had the lasagna. Folks... More

My girlfriend had visited before and was eager to show me Colao's. We settled in a cozy booth and our waiter immediately came over and helped us select a wine. He also had suggestions on the menu and we settled on Veal Marsala for me and Ellie chose jumbo sea scallops with pasta. The Caesar salad to start had aged... More

As many reviews state, the restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood, so parking is a little difficult at busier times. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and decent service. The food selection is pretty large and offered some interesting specials. In general the food was not bad or good, the Veal Scallopini I ordered was on the bland side,... More

We took our son and his roommate to this lovely restaurant while visiting him at PSU Behrend. First of all, the decor is charming and welcoming. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgable about the menu and took plenty of time explaining her favorite dishes and answering questions. All of our dishes were excellent, but the lobster ravioli was... My wife and I were back in Erie visiting family and we knew that we had to have an evening out for dinner at Colao's. Emily ordered the Shrimp Pomodoro and I decided to take our server's advice of ordering the Osso Buco. She served my dinner with a steak knife, aftering informing me that it was so tender. I...
