This recently reopened Blue Bell landmark is popular and organized. High quality dinners and interesting specials can be counted upon regularly. The patrons are sometimes divorces on the prowl in the bar, or younger people having an upscale night. The place is clean and well run, with the notable exception of its parking situation. It is a mess. Forced, unnecessary... More

We love inns. Living in PA, there are many from which to choose. This was our first time to Blue Bell Inn. I was surprised to find out that the town was named after the blue bell at the inn rather than the other way around. George Washington slept here (or so the story goes). The food was excellent -... I have not been to this restaurant in years. A friend and I decided to try Happy Hour. Unfortunately, we did not have the correct days for the $1.00 oysters. Nevertheless, we stayed at the bar and enjoyed the Happy Hour Bar Menu.First, the restaurant itself. When you drive up you see the facade of a historic Inn. There is... More

First time there, highly recommended since the full renovation. Same ownership group as Bridget's in Ambler, which we also love. Apps were great, or foursome shared tuna tartare and calamari which were excellent. Two diners got the lobster roll, two the filet mignon. All really enjoyed, good size portions. Great drink menu, varied options. Only "problem" was no room for... More

East coast James river oysters as we like them. The broccoli soup was fine, but I could not taste the cheese. Onion roll was better than the cold bread. Butter had sweet taste. The entrees were good but not too warm. We shared short ribs and scallops. The scallops were in brown butter. The vegetables that accompanied the short ribs... More

The menu changes and I prefer it some months to others, but they have done a nice job here on the building and interior, and the food is a strong point. Had a pleasant salad then whole bronzino with a spoon of mashed pots the other day, was very fresh and delicious. The service is professional. Not inexpensive but a... More

My wife and I went to the Blue Bell Inn for dinner and we were both impressed with the menu. Lots of choices and even the Fruit de Mer Plateaus were on the menu. We both had the crab salad to start and they were delicious. My wife had a beef dish and I went for the Bronzino, you can... More

In April 2013, after changing ownership, Blue Bell Inn closed its doors and underwent extensive renovation and redesign for over a year. In an effort to preserve historical significance, various aspects of the Inn were kept intact and enhanced through thoughtful restoration. An exposed rock wall from the original 18th century edifice was refurbished and is a focal point in the main dining room. Antique glass and old-fashioned bottles reclaimed during construction were repurposed into striking pieces of art throughout the restaurant. A more spacious floor plan was developed and quintessential indoor-outdoor spaces now encourage seasonal dining. New materials such as Italian porcelain tile, black marble and solid white oak were introduced to create a unique rustic-meets-modern ambiance. Today, Blue Bell Inn serves as a stunning architectural melange spanning three centuries.
