Our immediate family and mother of 90 had a table set up god 11 people. We were set at a comfortable place and each couple could pay for own meal. We were in the middle of everyone else coming and going. It would be good to have separate eating area for larger parties. The good was good and plentiful. Would... More

This restaurant is well worth the trip! The buffet is really large and has a nice variety of items to choose from. It has a great salad bar and dessert bar as well. The fried chicken is some of the best I have tasted anywhere. You simply cannot go wrong eating here. You can get the buffet or order from... More

Big, bright, bustling and touristy, Bird In Hand restaurant is a must-visit experience when visiting Amish country. The food is plentiful, hearty, fresh and served with a smile. Tip: We came on a busy night and found open seats at the counter. Same food, service and prices and no wait for a table!

Arrived at 12:45pm for a reservation for party of 3 at 1pm. Didn't get seated (literally) until 1:30pm. There are only 3 chairs in the waiting area - everyone stands! The food was very good - actually great - but I wouldn't go again to stand for 45 minutes while waiting.

Regretfully my friends & did not have a favorable experience at this restaurant. Since we had been to Lancaster many years ago we expected the same homey type of place as we had experienced at Good & Plenty, but wanted to try a different place. The place was a tourist trap with a gift shop right as you enter. The... More

You have to bend under the glass stretching your arm as far as you can just to reach the tongs to get food. No other restaurant has this problem. If you order coffee for yourself be aware if you can't drink at least 3 cups or more in your visit coffee isn't a good choice for one person. Hot tea... More

The selection is amazing! My family is vegetarian, but we opted for the entire dinner buffet. We were amazed how many items we could enjoy. I loved the amish noodles, and tried many new items included pickled beet eggs, celery casserole, shoo fly pie, and more. The kids buffet was also fun! My kids really enjoyed. The fact that they... A little know secret about the bird in hand family restaurant is that you can get a great, inexpensive breakfast seated at the counter. For $3.99 you get eggs, home fries, toast and coffee. Plus you get friendly waitresses to serve you. A great deal!
