On a return trip to D.C. from a funeral in PA we made an impromptu stop at this quaint Inn and Restaurant. The Inn was full but the restaurant had plenty of room. • The dining room was lovely but quite cold as their AC was on and it was an unseasonably cold evening. We mentioned this chill to the... The food between the Tavern in the basement and the Restaurant on the main floor is the same. I tend to prefer the Tavern for the more casual atmosphere. However, the Restaurant itself is quiet and charming -- better for 'romance' or a more formal meal setting.

After reading many excellent reviews, I expected far better. Perhaps it was an off night. All three couples started with appetizers from mussels & French Onion soup to Pork Egg rolls & one of the specials. One couple liked the mussels & the other couple said the morel mushroom & asparagus appetizer was good. I had the Egg rolls which... More

The Golden Eagle has a formal restaurant upstairs and a bar with the same food downstairs. The menu is eclectic with some fun items that change with the seasons (for example (General Tso's cauliflower as an appetizer) as well as standard bar food like burgers. Worth a visit!

Went here with a group of ladies for lunch. Our food was hot and fresh. Others had Reuben & Lamb Shepherds Pie with no complaints. I had beef stew that was so tasty and full of flavor! Definitely going back!

We went to the Golden Eagle Inn for brunch during a weekend getaway trip to the Bedford Springs Resort. The restaurant at the Golden Eagle Inn exceeded our expectations. The food was not only delicious, but also very creative. You know great inventions when you see them and think, "I can't believe no one has ever thought about this before!... More

What is especially nice is that grey haired part-time waitress, Marty, a wonderful person, so happy it's infectious. Burger was great, a whole meal & then some! The duck fat fries are tasty. So were mussels in a strange sounding sauce -- but tasty. Strongly recommended.

Our family went to The Golden Eagle Pub (in the basement of the main restaurant). They have the BEST BURGERS and we also tried the sauteed Brussel Sprouts and the fried Cauliflower.... ALL were totally delish!!! ;-)

Cute place in an old building in downtown Bedford which is right up the hubbys alley! Loved the old places. Food was good and service was excellent.

We ordered two small plate appetizers and were astounded that full-sized plates, mounded with food, were brought out. The portions are really big, and the food was pretty good. I'd recommend splitting an appetizer and entree, given the enormous portions.
