I've walked by this place a handful of times, but the way the building is set up, I thought it was some kind of coffee shop. A coworker suggested it for lunch and this place has fantastic food, quick service that's friendly even when the line was nearly out the door. Also, remarkably inexpensive for the portion sizes. Also, the... More

I came on a cool rainy day, needing comfort and from the funky outside knew it was a great idea. Go here for delish food and sweet service! Great space to hang with a hot cup, clean and welcoming!

Went to The Sultan for breakfast, and ordered "the Works", a bagel piled with eggs, cheese, hash browns, bacon & hot sauce. Wow! For $7 bucks it is a steal! It's yummy too by the way...

Great place to grab lunch, take-out for dinner, or a quick snack. The food is consistently great! Fresh, full of flavor, and reasonably priced. The Lamb Shawarma (Gyro) is amazing! I hightly recommend.

We live in extreme NW Portland during the summer. As such, we drive down 18th every day. (Its the thru road from Everett to Front Ave.) At the corner of 18th and Quimby we pass the Sultan Cafe and it always smells wonderful. So we stopped a week ago and the lady gave us samples that were sooo tasty and... More

We first went to this restaurant with a Groupon coupon. We've returned because the food is delicious. My favorite is the lamb shawarma which is prepared with tastily marinated lamb and fresh lettuce, goat cheese and garlic sauce served on pita bread. It's a hearty meal by itself. We also really like the chicken kebabs with veggies. Again made with... More

My son and I spent the day in Portland while registering for Portland State University. The date was Tuesday September 11, 2012. Not knowing where to eat, an Orientation team member of PSU encouraged us to walk down two streets (on 4th St) where numerous food trucks would be located. We settled on the Sultan Cafe because we both had... More

I am a frequent customer at The Sultan Cafe and can recommend the food, the coffee, and the drinks at happy hour. Middle Eastern cuisine is the specialty, and prices are quiet reasonable. Quality and quantity of dishes is also exceptional, and the cafe offers some of the cheapest coffee drinks (lattes, Turkish coffee, etc.) in Portland. The happy hour,... More
