Friends who regularly visit Portland ranked this place a "must try." As expected on arrival Saturday night at 6:30, there was a line and a wait of up to 75 minutes. So my daughter and I went to the Secret Society Lounge upstairs next door for drinks and returned 45 minutes later. Our table at the bar counter came up... More

Had two seats at the bar - good quick friendly service. Started off with Octopus a la Plancha Becerrita (very good), Jamon Croquettes (very good) and the Charcuteria Board - Duck Liver Mousse was the star of the board, make sure to try with the Sherry gelatin and the house made mustard. Followed the small bites with the Radicchio Ensalada... More

This came as a recommendation from a native Portlandier so I figured it was worth a try. We had to wait for a table- its a popular place, even on a Thursday- so we went upstairs to "The Secret Society" and had drinks. The wait was well worth it! We tried several different small plates- the scallops were the favorite... More

We got the last two seats in the house, up at the bar, and it was GREAT! Part of the menu is tapas style, and there are many choices for various other food items. It doesn't really matter what one orders, everything is very good! I got the house bacon and manchego burger which was so excellent that I failed... More

Of all the Tasty and Sons Toro Bravo is the only one that I frequent. Food is always great, everything I have had has been excellent, you might not think to get a burger at this type of resteraunt but it is the best in Portland, also the stuffed peppers are insane

I am a foodie and have the blessing of being able to eat out often, in fact, I spend thousands of dollars a year on eating out all over the United States. Suffice to say, I LOVE food and I love quality. That being said I am critical of any restaurant I eat at and as the cost rises so... More

And I mean what I wrote in the title! My sister and I went there for her birthday. She had never been before. The "chef's tasting menu" for $45 caught our eye at the bottom of the menu. We thought that would be fun to splurge on, since it was her birthday. It did say no exceptions or substitutions. Neither... More

Toro Bravo's Tapas and Raciones menu was fantastic. Look it up. Uncommon things you would never cook at home, octopus, lamb, etc. All done with finesse and flavor. And fun to share. Choices are on a small plate but everyone gets one to share. Then when you are done everyone gets another choice. Assuming you are hungry and into a... More

I rushed to Toro Bravo for the Coppa steak, rated by Willamette Week as one of Portland's 12 food wonders. I'm not a big steak eater; typically, I prefer ethnic dishes that I find a better value. That said, the Coppa was fabulous. It had a nice crust on the edges and a tender interior. The Salbitxada sauce was fabulous.... More

On a recent visit to Portland we were in the mood for a Spanish Tapas meal. Research consistently named Toro Bravo a "must try" choice so we decided to go early on a Monday. Arriving at 4:45pm (15 minutes before opening), there was a small queue of people waiting in front. Restaurant opened at 5 and we were promptly seated.... More
