I am a foodie and have the blessing of being able to eat out often, in fact, I spend thousands of dollars a year on eating out all over the United States. Suffice to say, I LOVE food and I love quality. That being said I am critical of any restaurant I eat at and as the cost rises so... More

And I mean what I wrote in the title! My sister and I went there for her birthday. She had never been before. The "chef's tasting menu" for $45 caught our eye at the bottom of the menu. We thought that would be fun to splurge on, since it was her birthday. It did say no exceptions or substitutions. Neither... More

Toro Bravo's Tapas and Raciones menu was fantastic. Look it up. Uncommon things you would never cook at home, octopus, lamb, etc. All done with finesse and flavor. And fun to share. Choices are on a small plate but everyone gets one to share. Then when you are done everyone gets another choice. Assuming you are hungry and into a... More

I rushed to Toro Bravo for the Coppa steak, rated by Willamette Week as one of Portland's 12 food wonders. I'm not a big steak eater; typically, I prefer ethnic dishes that I find a better value. That said, the Coppa was fabulous. It had a nice crust on the edges and a tender interior. The Salbitxada sauce was fabulous.... More

On a recent visit to Portland we were in the mood for a Spanish Tapas meal. Research consistently named Toro Bravo a "must try" choice so we decided to go early on a Monday. Arriving at 4:45pm (15 minutes before opening), there was a small queue of people waiting in front. Restaurant opened at 5 and we were promptly seated.... More

Went here for the first time and shared several Tapas and Entrees before the Sting concert. Everything was perfectly prepared and the service was excellent.

Get here early to avoid a line. We got seats in their narrow, cozy (kind-of awkward but cute) little room on the side. Great service throughout the meal. Food came quick (even before the drinks), but we settled into a good groove. Faves were the Mendoza sour, bacon wrapped dates, charcuterie board (esp the fois gras). Cheese plate was mixed... More

They do not take reservations except for large parties (8 - 10)- they open at 5 and by 4:30 there is a line forming. - best choice is to get there around 7:00 when the 1st wave is done eating.. Excellent tapas place - I travel to Spain regularly and this restaurant brings Spain into Portland. All dishes are superb... More

After trying to get into this restaurant four times we finally lucked out on visit number five! It was a cold and very snowy day so there was no line! They do not take reservations so you will have to wait a while for a table. I think the average is 45 minutes to an hour. The menu includes a... More

We booked a table for 8 (post wedding meal) on January 1st. I had called Toro Bravo ahead of time to pre order food for the table, and asked them to make recommendations and handle the timing of our meal. Having everyone share tapas (family style) was a great way to celebrate together. The restaurant took such good care of... More
