The sign outside says toothsome Reuben, and inside best Reuben in the planet! It is very tasty, one could even taste the corned beef, even though you have to lift the bread to see the couple of slices. The pickle and carrot sticks were good too. And the place is cozy. I had a good beer, but it was a... More

What a disappointment. First of all the Goose has always been a bar first. I have been going to the Spatenhaus Tavern, Bud's place, before the Goose, for over 50 years. Always able to find a quiet corner to chat with friends, have a great sandwich and a beer. We stopped there after a five hour drive, looking forward to... More

What do you do to make this sandwich so GOOD?? Are they baked or grilled? Do you use swiss or cheddar or both? They are the best that I've ever eaten!

I used to live 2 blocks away. It has always been a unique place to visit and have beers. The food is a little over priced and service is questionable. I still love it and the vibe. For all you people who come to our city and complain about the rain and food -please leave. No one wanted you in... More

After a long walk around the Hoyt Arboretum, we stopped for an early lunch. Soup of the day was Hungarian mushroom, which was served with delicious (I think house made) croutons. I then had a spinach salad. My husband had a Reuben sandwich, which he said was among the top Ruebens he has ever had. (They are a favorite of... More

When I asked a new coworker where to eat when in Portland, she didn't even hesitate or refer anywhere else. Traveling to the Oregon Coast from Seattle, this was the perfect lunch spot. We all had the suggested Reuben and seriously contemplated stopping on the return drive back. I will be back again for sure and they will too when... More

Stopping here for lunch or dinner makes me feel like a local. Generous pours of house wines, well made cocktails and tasty, well prepared menu items. Try the pizza, salads, sandwiches. The veggie burger is better than most. The potato salad is deliciously home-made. Carrot sticks with every plate. We like to go on purpose or spontaneously stop when we... More

This place was fun, and a good dining experience. The ruben we all ordered was different (ingredients) but it was very good and a good sized sandwich. We would go back w/o any hesitation.

Goose Hollow has been around for a long time. The decor is a little tired but overall the pub is clean. There is a big patio that can be partially be used even when it rains. Well trafficked by regulars but they always make room for new comers. The food is decent. Locally, they are famous for their Reuben sandwiches.... More
