My friend and I came and ordered takeout. It took about 15 minutes for our orders to be completed. Menu is pretty standard - think pad Thai, fried rice, curries, other noodle dishes etc. I ordered tofu pad Thai and fried wontons and my fried ordered chicken pad see ew. The server asked us how spicy we wanted it. I... More

While I would not normally think of a thai restaurant for wonton soup, their wonton soup bowl is large, and .. fabulous. Enjoyed the baan thai noodles and ordered the next spicy level down from medium at my server's suggestion, and thank goodness. Very spicy and delicious.

I'm visiting at Portland State Univ., and love ethnic food. This restaurant is very convenient for me. Very close to the building I need to be. Price, taste, amount are just right.

I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the ease of finding parking at Baan Thai. A friend recommend eating here, saying it was some of the best Pad Thai in Portland. I was a bit skeptical, but Baan Thai really is that good. I ordered Pad See Ew, while my friends ordered the Pad Thai. The... More

On my first visit to Baan-Thai, I ordered the vegetarian yellow curry and Thai iced tea--they were phenomenal! The vegetarian option included tofu and broccoli instead of meat, and the tofu and broccoli were nicely balanced with the other vegetables. All the ingredients were cooked to perfection, and it had just the right amount of heat--pleasurable as long as I... More

This restaurant has the potential to be good but they have no idea of what it means to take care of customers. I called in an order to take out and they said it would take 20 minutes. When I arrived they said they did not have the appetizer we had ordered so I should order another. I did that.... More

The menu is standard thai fare with some dishes noted as ** i.e. hot stuff and unable to be changed. The food was average with a strange hit having the bar located in the dinning area. The place is cramped and noisy so don't expect a quiet dining experience. Good for a quick meal with our portions being adequate for... More

Our family went here while visiting my daughter at Portland state. This is one of her favorite restaurants. We enjoyed the Thai iced tea for our drink. Then had the fried spring rolls (which you get 2 of them cut in half). And the fried wontons (6) Both had tasty dipping sauce and were yummy and flavorful. I had the... More

I used to do this frequently—come into Baan-Thai just as they were opening, too early for noise and restaurant mayhem next to a huge campus. I'd bring a book or magazine. I'd order tea. Then I'd order salad rolls, because theirs are really good. I'd work my way through one of them, then read a little. Time for fried calamari... More
