This is a first-rate restaurant. Dinner for two with wine before tip was $110. For sushi of this quality, it was a bargain. As usual, I started with tako sunomono, and the octopus was very fresh. Perfect. I had an assortment of nigiri, but the standout was the monkfish liver pâté. It was excellent. If you're in Portland, this place... More

Extraordinary authentic Japanese dining experience in downtown Portland. We went with the chef's recommended assortment of hot, cold, raw and cooked dishes. Spectacular presentation, ample portions. Exquisite experience in every way!

It took a while to find the place, it is hidden in a little shopping strip between 2nd and 3rd street. It is the same as sushi restaurant in Japan - the interior, chefs and waitresses. Sushi were exactly what I was hoping for, fresh and authentic, no crap with mayo or chile sauce, etc. Thank you for wonderful dinner!... More

We ate here before a show at the Keller Auditorium. The food was delicious and fresh and the staff were kind and professional. Of the rolls we tried, the dragon roll was among the best I've had. We also had fresh octopus and striped jack ngiri on the recommendation of our server. Wow! I've always stuck to rolls, but that... More

Went with Japanese friends and was a little hesitant as we entered. it's not a fancy restaurant but we went in and sat in a small private room. Our Japanese friends ordered for us. EVERYTHING was delicious. I highly recommend this place for fresh and creative and authentic Japanese dishes. Service was also excellent.

I had the una ju. Which was good but like most things in this restaurant a bit expensive. I would maybe go again when my wallet was thicker or if it was cheaper.

It's my first time to visit to Portland. Portland is beautiful ,quiet and clean. But the American food is still difficult for me, so I didn't eat real meals until the day I met Murata which is near Marriott Hotel where I was. I had a real Japanese meal, like I used to had when I lived in Japan. The... More

This tiny restaurant has outstanding sushi. In fact, it was so good we ate there for dinner twice on a recent trip for a conference in Portland. The daily sushi specials increase an already generous choice of sushi options. We ate at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs seemed very knowledgeable and were meticulous in their handling of the... The sushi he was very good and fresh. With your meal you get some little appetizers that are about 1 bite each. They have a couple of private rooms for dinner parties, just about 4 tables, and a small sushi bar. I liked just about everything here but don't believe that what I got was worth the price. The uni... More

Outstanding food and service. Why not 5 stars? A bit pricy for the portions. My sashimi plate was good but very small pieces. Service was amazing! Open 5:30 on weekends MAKE RESERVATIONS! Saw many parties turned away. Very limited seating. Yes, I would return .
