If you pass by on Grand Avenue at lunch, you will always see this place full. The food is authentic and delicious. Lunch features flatbread to go with various bowls or wraps which can be adorned with grilled meats (or not!). The rice in some combinations is saffron and the vegetables are well prepared. I havn't (yet) been here for... More

Nicholas is a wonderful departure from standards Lebanese fare, owing to the cleverness of its chef, the quality of its ingredients and willingness to take a step beyond the predictable. We shared the Arabian Breeze mezze dinner which included (in addition to standard items) Tahini, Falafel, an exceptional Garlic fried cauliflower, Roasted eggplant, Caramelized onions with tahini and Hamara (roasted... There was a significant amount of inconsistency between menu items. Some good, some bad. It definitely was not worth the wait.

Our son and his wife are vegetarians and they love Nicholas' while my wife and I would give it a pass. We've got very good Lebanese restaurants where we live and they pack pita with meat when they prepare a gyros or shawarma, not so here. The vegetarian options are very good, but they put the least amount of meat... More

this placed USED to be the best. but they have more than DOUBLED their prices over the past couple years - to practically unaffordable prices. and they give you less food for twice the money. they have lost my business for life. so, the food is quite good, but for the price... you can find other Mediterranean restaurants that are... It was a typical rainy night in Portland and we had to eat before going to the theater. The neighborhood was funky, but not threatening in any way we felt. Hungry, a little pressed for time, getting colder. We got lucky! My wife and I hadn't expected to find Nicholas' Restaurant, although we'd heard it was excellent. We went in... More

We had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in Portland. We loved the generous portions and huge pita bread to start. This place does Lebanese right! Highly recommend trying if you are in Portland area.

We took advantage of the lunch menu and were not disappointed. It was truthfully only as authentic as you'd expect from a lunch-deal but still very flavorful, well cooked and also very very reasonably priced. I'd definitely be happy to return and check out their regular menu.
