We walked in a Friday night at 5 without a reservation and were seated with no problem. We ordered the chicken fried trout, a gnocchi appetizer and a gratin for our daughter. The fish came out whole fish which was interesting. It was fresh and...More

Maybe I don't like eating at places where the food is expensive and trendy because it never seems any better than my favorite places that are reasonably priced and consistently good. Little Bird has a reservation list that is weeks, if not months, ahead (a...More

Loved it...we ordered a number of dishes from the menu and shared. One of the rare places to serve a torchon de foie gras (it was delicious). Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Pricey but well worth the experience.

Little Bird Bistro should absolutely be on your "to do list" for Portland restaurants, especially if you enjoy French cuisine. The seemingly small space somehow seems light and airy, especially in the mezzanine area. The staff were all exceptionally courteous and the service was faultless....More

We popped in for happy hour and had some great treats. The atmosphere is snug and beautiful. Perfect for a raining day with a special someone or friends! I found the servers to be a tad aloof, but maybe just part of the scene. Certainly...More

We ate the gnocchi appetizer and then had fried chicken. Drinks and food were served quickly. Staff very attentive.

Ordered the seared foie-gras, huge portion ( I was lucky), then their deconstructed-recreated version of Coq-au-vin...Crispy fried chicken parts atop a bed of pommes raclette with roasted mushrooms, bacon, pearl onions, and an intense red wine/balsamic jus poured tableside.....probably the best/most innovative interpretation of that...More

We get here by chance and ordered the meal of the day for lunch. It was not very sophisticated nor fancy but real fresh and good. Maybe it was surprise factor, we were not expecting anything in particular. The restaurant is from the same chef...More

This was a second visit to show off some of Portland's many choices of restaurants. Some hits and misses of entree choices. Charcuterie board and crepes great, gnocchi not so good. Service was good.

Was eagerly anticipating this restaurant. Why did the waitress act as if we were putting out the restaurant when one of us asked what she recommended that was dairy and gluten free when that was noted on the online reservation? Our waitress was the least...More

I hosted a group upstairs for a corporate lunch. As we know, heat rises and it became very hot up there. They brought in fans for us. I thought they handled it well.
