The area around Glockenspiel is German influenced. The architecture, design and types of shops all focus on the German culture. The restaurant is a massive two-story building with a Glockenspiel clock in the three story turret over the front door. The clock plays at 11:00,...More

Expecting a far more 'authentic' German experience than what we received - or what is offered. First of all, the restaurant itself is quite nice. Our service was top notch. But the menu? Not so good. Quite limited. For starters, we had the sausage appetizer....More

Thank you so much for your honest feedback, we always want to hear what we can improve on. Authentic schnitzel is made with Veal and as a whole, the owners of the restaurant decided against Veal for many reasons. Could you elaborate on the sauce?...More

Keeping with the theme of Mt. Angel's Germanic inspired buildings and culture, you can enjoy a deliciously filling meal that uses locally farmed food. The fondue is an excellent starter. If you are there at the right time you'll be able to leave your table...More

We have been big fans of the Glockenspeil restaurant for years. The food is always perfect and the ambiance is extraordinary. Time your visit to coincide with the nightly show in the Glockenspeil above the restaurant.

We were happy to find that the Glockenspiel was essentially unchanged since our visit three years ago. Still serving German inspired favorites with several types of wurst available as well as dishes like cabbage rolls. Good beers on tap.

I wanted to experience some real German food. This is not the place for that. We decided to split a vegetable fondue plate. The table next to us had a large plate of vegetables which looked great. Our plate was not so great. We got...More

We were there to see the area & wanted to partake of the whole atmosphere. So we shared the German dinner for two. The food was prepared well, though the Spaetzle was a bit over cooked as some of it was truly hard. All was...More

To celebrate family birthdays (five in two days!) we went to The Glockenspiel in Mt. Angel. First we got there in time to see the glockenspiel which played for about five minutes. For my lunch I had the Wurst Platte which had a bratwurst and...More
