Ordered the #3. Like I had done other times before.not the same. I live about 8 miles from town. Opened up my order and thought to myself (what is this?) did this place get sold? new owners? not taking a chance again.

My wife was out of town so went for a light dinner. Ordered Egg Flower Soup and Pork Fried Rice. I understand COVID has made life difficult for restaurants, but the way back IS NOT to cut ingredients and make food with zero flavor. The...soup was a tasteless broth with the egg swirled in, a SINGLE pea and ONE piece of ground pork. The rice was a large portion of tasteless rice with maybe a dozen pieces of chopped scallion and 6 small pieces of bbq pork that were smothered in Five Spice and some scrambled egg, no other ingredients. If you like an abundance of Five Spice then order this dish as that was the only flavor. Overall a huge disappointment for what I paidMore
Food was delicious, portions were enormous for the price. We had two additional leftover meals after the first! Was disappointed that you cannot get soup on takeout orders, but we received fried rice instead of steamed rice (I am guessing in lieu of the soup).
Chan's used to be a good place to eat. I ordered pork chow mein with pan fried noodles. I should have known when the order taker asked "if that was the dish that had all the bean sprouts in it". The styrofoam box was loaded...with over cooked spaghetti noodles, bean sprouts, a few small pieces of pork, exactly 4 pieces of celery and a lot of liquid. So much liquid it overflowed the box, thank goodness it was in a bag. There was zero flavor and ONE small packet of soy sauce, all this for $11.00. I understand times are tough for restaurants which is why I try to support local places to eat. I would think you would want to separate your place of business from others by providing tasty food, not the poor excuse I threw away last night. No more Chan's for meMore
We wanted a quick lunch while waiting for my car to be serviced at a nearby dealership. Chan’s filled the bill beautifully! It was a VERY HOT day in McMinnville so we appreciated being able to dine in air-conditioned comfort! We were served quickly and...our food was delicious and inexpensive!More
I ordered the Cashew chicken lunch, and I liked it fine. I prefer the real Chinese food eating with a bunch of Chinese patrons like the experience of Ranch 99 market in Beaverton.
Wait staff are so friendly and efficient. Veggies crisp and fresh. We just basically love this place! Great lightly seasoned food. Love it!
Very bland but lots of it. very popular for eating in or loads of take outs too. Easy parking off the main drag. staff friendly & helpful
We had been longtime fans of Chan's in Dundee, OR but that was recently sold and on our one trip there, we were disappointed in the new menu and food. We loved Chan's hot & sour soup and spicy vegetables in Szechuan sauce but they...are not the same in Dundee. We discovered Chan's in McMinnville. We have seen it often and often wondered if there was any connection. Chan is not an unusual name, It turns out there is, According to our waitress, the Chan's in McMinnville people had started the Chan's in Dundee and then sold it to their cook who operated it for years. She recently sold it to new owners, and now she works at the McMinnville Chan's part time, We found the food to be what we liked Chan's for. The hot & sour soup was exactly like the Dundee Chan's used to have. The menu is not exactly the same, but many of our favorites were there. We were delighted to find this Chan's and we will be back. The specials are a real bargain. We could not finish ours and we are not light eaters. Food was very good. Everything was fresh tasting and seasoned as we like it. I like very spicy-hot, and they had no trouble doing that for me. Service was typical "diner" service. Not bad, not 5-star, but our water never got empty, and very friendly. We were quite comfortable, Hard to rate cost. It varies depending on what is ordered, but if the special is ordered it would fall in the cheap eats category as the meal would be less than at a fast food chain restaurant. There are more expensive options including some that have to be ordered ahead of time and are intended for multiple people, Bottom line: We think it is the best Chinese in the area and we will be back.More
Great value. Friendly service. Tasty food. We have been enjoying Chans since they popped up initially in Salem. Then bought the current location in Mac. More recently the business has changed ownership, but they still do a good job filling us up with Chinese food...made with fresh crisp vegetables, proteins and sauces. Always good!More
