While in Hood River, we stopped in for an early dinner at Ixtapa. I ordered a lemon drop, and it came in its own shaker, so I was able to refill my glass a couple of times - WONDERFUL!!! For dinner, I ordered the Carne Asada, and it the best I have ever had. The service was great. I highly... More

Awesome chili Rianos outstanding service and they even gave me a bag to take my chips home so they don't get soggy.

Went here for lunch. The salsa on the table was liquid juice, with no solid tomato or onion pieces, like water. My pollo en mole was thin and soupy. The rice was so dried out that it was crisp and crunchy all over, just as though it had sat out. The corn tortillas were hot, but dry and brittle on... More

Believe me, there is nothing wrong with this place...just not a great as it once was. Used to be a go to for taking out of towners...after last week I'll simply cook at home. Staff was tired and really showed it. Food was "typical", used to be fantastic. Perhaps after a winter rest from the tourists this restaurant will do... More

Both the Ixtapa in The Dalles and in Hood River prides themselves on excellent food and excellent service. To bad more American restaurants wouldn't take notice of the excellent service provided by these establishments.

Had dinner here last night while waiting for the interstate to open back up. The food was pretty good. I had a chimichanga. It had good flavor. The chips and salsa were very good and the salsa seemed homemade so that's a plus. Overall it was about what I expected.

They have good food , the services was really slow and the dinners took about 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen . The waiters don't really come back to see if you need anything else . Seemed like it took forever to get the food too . Over all was ok but I would hurry back .

Visiting Hood River from Australia on business and just happened to see Ixtapa while driving by. It is tucked away so you need to look for it. Really friendly welcome, seated immediately. Venue is simple but friendly and welcome. Mexican soft music helps with the selection, consumption and digestion. Great selecting of food, I chose a combination and was pleased... More

Located in a shopping center at the edge of town, we had parking right in front so we didn't have to walk in the rain. My vegetarian dish was prepared WITHOUT all the heavy grease often found in Mexican dishes.
