Kaze was recommended by our hotel. From outside it does not look so great. Inside was a different story. The udon noodles were fantastic. We also ordered Sushi which was on par. Nothing fancy just good solid sushi options.

The hot soup and noodles were a welcome respite from the cold. They were perfectly spiced and hearty. We also had a lovely sushi roll with king crab, eel, and other seafood which was incredible. The rice was perfectly done. Staff were busy and attentive...More
This restaurant is a hidden treasure! The calamari tempura is outstanding - the batter is flaky and not greasy and the serving is huge - best tempura we have had in ages. The sashimi was also delicious. Our server, Emma, was very friendly and welcoming,...More
Sushi on the menu? Then Kaze is a must! Great views of the river and delicious sushi, what more can one ask for! ENJOY! Say hello to Chef/Owner Toshi and Ema, the manager! Tell them Natasha sent you :)
Kaze is a great treat in downtown Hood River! The food is wonderful, the service very attentive and pleasant - too good to pass up! We visit often and have never been disappointed.
Toshi, the owner, is from South Japan. Whichever type of sushi preparation is your favorite, you will have a masterpiece. Every time without fail. He prepares your plate in front of you, or if it's cooked, in the kitchen right behind him. The restaurant overlooks...More
A trip to Hood River would not be complete without a visit to the Kaze Japanese restaurant.. Great food, friendly people, nice atmosphere. We ate here with our son's wedding party. So good we returned for two more visits.
Delicious and lovely sushi. Bento box is a family favorite -- lots of food, great value, beautifully presented. Bring your patience...service can be quite slow. But it is worth it if you have the time!
We really enjoyed the stuffed shiitake mushroom special and rainbow sushi roll. We sat outside and had a wonderful view of the river. Service was excellent.
Go for the Japanese food (the sushi was good but Okalani was better). Amazing miso ramen and spicy tofu. Like other reviews about the place, the service is really slow so be prepared to wait.
