We have been there many times while on vacation though they threw us a curve this past summer by moving to a new location a few doors down. Short-term panic ensued until we realized what had transpired. Excellent sandwiches! I wish I could figure out a way to have their Italian Sandwich and Baked Brie shipped to me back east! Lunch and afternoons are totally laid back. Evenings the menu moves towards more creativity and sophistication but the servers are still the same laid back folks of earlier in the day.

Very well decorated and clean interior. Service was good and the sandwich prices reasonable ($12). I had the pastrami (like a Reuben) and it was loaded with pastrami and provolone. My husband’s roast beef dip was hearty but he said that the au jus was not flavorful enough for him. The truffle fries ($3 extra) were tasty but I liked the regular ones ($2 extra) just as well. Sandwiches come with kettle chips. The Vicious Mosquito from Sunriver Brewery was tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant. They serve dinner on Friday and Saturday, and have a brunch on Sunday. Check it out.

My wife and I decided to go for a drive to wine country on Oct. 7, 2022 and stopped here for lunch. We each ordered the half sandwich and soup option- I picked the pastrami and she picked a beef sandwich. Both were very good although we thought the pastrami tasted better. My chicken [with corn] chowder was excellent and my wife enjoyed her tomato soup. She popped$3.00 more for the truffle fries- also very good. We passed on wine as we were planning on a tasting elsewhere. The service was perfect. Our bill before tip was $29.00. I'd certainly go here again and would recommend it to others.

We used an online promotion for this dinner, which was a great value, but came with hassles. Even though we asked about our promotion before ordering, staff were confused about its use. Ultimately, the restaurant honored our understanding.
We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday and were given a choice of seating. We were told that two of about 8 entrees were not available. Pasta, chicken, and steak options were available.
There was a band set up across from us playing bluegrass music. They were skilled, but the acoustics in the building made this over-loud and intrusive. Others were shouting to hold conversations.
We ordered the cheese plate, New York steak for two. and two glasses of wine. Wine selection was limited, but good quality.
Plating was pleasing. The butternut squash side was very good. The steak portions appeared about 4 oz. ($30 regular price). Flavor was good, but one of the steak servings was more chewy.
Service was friendly, but not consistent. We did not get a refill of water, or check-ins from our server. When we had a question about our check, we could not get her attention. They may have been under-staffed.

I have been here when they were at another location unfortunately they changed not sure if it is COVID19 related but the service left a lot to be desired. We came in the evening, were told that they were out of fries and Brussels sprouts unless we order the steak (then they would make them for us) sadly I am vegetarian so not happening. We ordered the brie, which is delicious but MUCH MUCH smaller than the last time I came (like 1/4 the size). Ordered the hummus plate with veggies. The celery was white, it had been sitting in water a long time. I pointed it out and she said oh they had just cut it this am and that is just he color, did not offer a new one. We asked about desert and she said the kitchen was closed. What? why would you not come and give the patron a warning and ask if they wanted anything else. I was sad and disappointed and hungry so we left and went down the street and had pizza and ice cream (which was delicious at Park and Main).

Sandwiches are incredibly delicious. The ham and turkey are unlike anywhere else, not processed meats, but like real roasted turkey and ham you cooked yourself from a whole natural ham. The dressings and spreads for the sandwiches are homemade. The Creme Brûlée cheesecake was delightful.

We stopped in for a quick lunch. They serve delicious sandwiches, homemade soup, and great starters. We shared a wonderful baked brie with fig jam, served on a small, sliced baguette. We had a couple of great sandwiches and their fresh quiche. The service staff were friendly and attentive. This would be a great day trip from Portland just for lunch.

I stopped in for lunch with a couple of friends after some wine tasting on an early Sunday afternoon. The place was crowded, which is always a good sign, but we were able to be seated right away at the one remaining open table. Service was a little slow since it was such a busy time but we weren't in a hurry so it was ok for us. They have lots of sandwiches on the menu, along with starters, soup, a couple of salad options, and a rotating frittata selection. I ordered a ham and potato frittata with a side salad and my friends had a ham sandwich and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for being in the middle of wine country. I'd certainly consider returning for lunch here.

We had an excellent lunch here. We had a wine tasting just around the corner at Ken Wright Vineyards. We enjoyed the creamy spinach and artichoke dip and the roasted red pepper humus. Nice atmosphere and great service.

Being our first time in the Oregon wine area, we took the suggestion of our server at
Beaux Freres winery and came here, with no reservation, for lunch. The place was jammed with locals but our very friendly host/waitress managed to put together our table for 4. Service was very slow but with great reason-the two servers never stopped running as they did a great job keeping us informed. No way could we be upset based on their efforts. Two major points-great food and huge portions. Our party ordered 3 different sandwiches and the frittata. Except for the frittata, we took at least 1/2 of each sandwich home with us. I highly recommend this wonderful small town restaurant. Be patient and you will be rewarded with great food and friendly service.

We were lucky enough to walk in about 5 minutes before the lunch crowd crunch arrived. I had the Italian sandwich which was very tasty. Lady enjoyed the veggie sandwich too. Good service. It can get a bit loud due to the brick walls and people enjoying too much wine.

Very Cute Diner in Carlton. Didn't want a lot, so we split the soup and sandwich. The soup was so good, and the server put it in two bowls for us. Very nice. It was so, so, yummy!
Great sandwich as well, exactly what we needed, to get back to wine tasting.

My wife and I were staying in the Wine Lofts above the Horse Radish and decided to try lunch here. We were not disappointed the Roast Beef Sandwiches were incredible. All of the food they were serving looked amazing. Great find in the perfect small town of Carlton.

Cute little town as you wine taste thru the Willamette Valley. Great spot in downtown with sandwiches, soups, and salads. The hand cut fries are the best. Big tables if you have a group.
