We had a fishermans basket & all the fish was imported frozen fish. The scallops had large white roes (Thailand?), the fish was oily, prawns were the flat "cocktail" style you buy in boxes for parties. The staff bickered between themselves while we waited. But...More

What a great find. Fresh seafood, fresh salads and pizzas. Room to sit inside, outside or take away. It is well worth the wait, we had to wait 40 minutes, but the freshness was extraordinary.

We arrived in Strahan too late on our first night to catch the supermarket and didn't fancy a big pub or restaurant meal, so thought we would have some fish and chips at The Fish Cafe on the main boardwalk. What we found was a...More

This is the most expensive fish and chips and not worth the effort, the staff were unhelpful bordering on rude and refused to provide a piece of lemon for the fish unless I paid 50cents. Suggest you give this a wide berth. Cost $90 plus...More

I always expect good seafood in a fishing village but this was the worst piece of fish I've had in a while. Chips were great and the service was friendly.

We ordered 2 grilled flathead fillets, chips and salad. Each flathead fillet was actually the size of a sardine (I am not kidding) and also badly cooked. The chips were soggy and what we received for 2 of us was less than one usual helping!...More

Admittedly it was a busy night, but the food was terrible. No plates, just a cardboard box and plastic cutlery, but luckily they did provide tables and chairs. Local fish? I think not. I had grilled flathead, my husband blue-eye cod. mine was totally overcooked...More

Our meal was great and reasonably priced and they were open early for tea which was great with 3 young children. The only downside was there was no high chair which makes it quite difficult with a 18 month old. Other than that it was...More
