This is an incredibly good giftware store... I understand the premise of going into a cafe is for a coffee or a bite to eat...but I did neither. I wandered in because I was curious and I am ever so glad I was. I needed a gift for someone who was looking after my cat back at home. :)
I managed to purchase a couple of incredible foot socks- of course at $30 a piece these were not cheap, but wow they are great quality. It turns out that my friend can't wait to try them.
I think this cafe is perfectly located if you need a cool drink coming down from the nut ... or a coffee. But for me, the service was good, the stock inside was brilliant.

I stopped here to get the chairlift up the nut only to find it had closed during winter season. I popped into the cafe to enquire about the chairlift and decided to grab a bite to eat. The cafe is a nice little stop for tourist, good location, good products and some quirky and super super practical warm gifts. Tasmania is well known for scallop pies. A pie with no peas and lightly flavoured with curry so I decided to try one! Omg I need these in my life! Yum! So good. The service was very warm and friendly with some great local knowledge. Very helpful. The cafe itself is nice and cosy without feeling too small and has a log fire which gave it a lovely intimate setting while I overlooked the bay. Just gorgeous. Highly recommended. A beautiful place in Tasmania.

Called in after descending on the chair lift. Intended to have a coffee but didn't get pas the ice creams. Rum & Raisin for me, Boysenberry for wife. Yum! Yum!
Great selection of giftware, crafts and souvenir items at prices to suit most.

My husband & I ordered the scallop pies for which Tasmania is famous. What a disappointment! When we cut into the pies a lot of watery liquid ran out making the bottom of the pies a soggy mess. The scallops in the pies were tough & overcooked & the mornay sauce had curdled. Almost inedible, at $12 each a waste of money, don’t bother.

We were recommended to visit this cafe and have a scallop pie, which we did and it was the best I've ever had. The cafe sits at the base of the Nut, near the chair lift. It has a good menu and there is also a very well stocked souvenir shop. You can eat in or out. There's plenty of free parking and it's wheelchair accessible.

Husband had a coffee here while I checked out the gift shop. He said his coffee was really good. The gift shop had a great range of products.

Didn’t manage to get served - staff didn’t even acknowledge me and I was the only person at the counter. I walked out! Rudeness is not conducive to customer service!

Great coffee not a lot of food selection I thought. More for the tourist wanting souvenirs after walking around The Nut reserve.

There was not much choice and I thought $9 for two large scones was a bit much. $17 for a slice of lasagna, likewise. There were no cheap alternatives unless you want to pay $6 for a toasted ham sandwich, which my husband did. Quality food but very expensive. I would not go back again.

We had seen reviews stating how good the breakfast etc. was, however they only sell snacks, tea and coffee, it's mainly souvenirs and gifts now. But it is handy if you want a drink or snack after descending the Nut.

We popped into the Nut cafe & store to buy a few postcards . The cafe sells coffee & a few snacks but mostly it’s all about the souvenirs. The cafe is located below the cable car.

We were disappointed on arriving to be told that the previous owners have moved on and the cafe is no longer operating with its scones and scallop pies and yummy breakfasts. You can get coffee and ice cream. There is a nice array of souvenirs though.

After a nice time on The Nut Nature Preserve, including a 2 kilometer walk, my wife and I stopped in this Cafe/store to purchase something for a friend. The Cafe/store has the usual assortment of t-shirts, souvenir items and snacks for sale. However, the Cafe also has a very nice selection of baked goods and more substantial meal items as well. I decided to treat myself to a slice of carrot cake and black currant soda. The carrot cake was in a bar shape and was very good. It was fresh and moist with an excellent cream cheese frosting that was not overly sweet. The lovely young lady who was running things was very friendly and helpful. This is a nice stop to make after spending time up on The Nut.
