After a day of 'adventure' in Wine Glass Bay, some lunch was needed. This was a surprising find with Mussels the size of a small country and fabulous fish and chips! The building itself is impressive and the aspect perfect for a warm sunset. Food was good, not gourmet, but when you're hungry it fitted the bill!

One of the better seafood places for us during our Tassie trip. Fresh, value for money and in a beautiful setting.

The views from the deck are superb, and it's lovely being outside enjoying great food and wines. Ideal for kids with plenty of room to run around outside.

We were disappointed that the main restaurant does not open for lunch but decided to stay on at the bistro as the views from the deck were truly lovely. Don't be put off by the unappetising looking buffet area - sit outside and ask for a menu and you'll find that there are plenty of appealing options. It's all very... More

In for an early luncheon a beautiful sunny day so we sat on the deck. All the staff were bright and happy to see patrons but our waitress Jules? was very good. The seafood was fresh and well cooked. This bistro offers small and large serves on most menu items, now thats a good idea. No one needs a huge... More

We were staying at Freycinet Lodge and didn't feel like driving anywhere else for dinner. We opted for the Lodge's Richardson's Bistro as it required no driving, was well-priced, had good menu choices and we could eat casually in the Lodge's common area (the actual restaurant was closed for renovations). Great choice! We shared the lamb rack and a salad... More

With plenty of seating outside and about a dozen tables inside, this Bistro isn't fancy, but it offers great views! Place your order up at the bar (be prepared to line up...) and then relax with a nice cold one. I ordered the Oysters and the Mussels and both were delicious. Presentation was very appealing / great, and everything was... More

This bistro has a tasty range of food and good service, with inside or outside tables overlooking Richardson's beach. Located on the waterfront side of Freycinet Lodge, it's a good place for a pleasant meal if you're camping nearby or visiting without staying at the lodge. The breakfast buffet is particularly good with an excellent range of hot food as... More

We went there for lunch on Saturday 18th March. At 12.15pm doors locked and no sign of activity and no signs indicating why they werent open. Ended up going into Coles Bay and having lunch at the Tavern there.

Would give this place a 6 out of 10. Had a dinner here because we had tried just about every other place in Coles Bay. Food was OK but nothing special. Too bad you can't go for a stoll on the jetty out the front !

Thank Lesley W
