This Lodge style hotel provides a friendly and welcoming atmosphere after a long days drive. With high ceilings, a warm fire and a forest vista to complement a 4 star meal, you'll enjoy your stop here. The menu is excellent; great value with a few quirky combinations (scallops with lychee and raspberry coulis?) but the quality and quantity is excellent.... More

This is our fave pit stop on the way to the West Coast. On our recent visit, we dropped in with our caravan and stayed overnight in the carpark for free. As usual, we had a great meal and although a little bit expensive - we love it because of the ambience and uniqueness of the place. Our small boys... More

Outside it looked like a country pub but inside it was almost like an Alpine retreat. Rich woodwork, exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, wood carvings and a roaring fire (yes we needed it in January) set the scene for a good value meal in a friendly restaurant.

My family stopped in here for dinner while overnighting at Bronte Park, as we preferred the menu to that Bronte Park Lodge. This place is great value. You just need to remember that, being on the Highway, it gets a lot of passing trade, so you need to get in early to get your meal fast. Dinner starts at 6PM.... More

We thought we were in for a lovely lunch based on the reviews we had read but our experience was not great. The prices were inflated to capitalise on the fairly remote location and the meals were pretty ordinary. Our order was mixed up with another table which wouldn't have bothered us normally but compounded the situation with the price/quality... More

What a find Sri Lankan chef in the wilds of Tasmania. Very quaint pub was booked out to stay but we were lucky enough to get their for dinner. Being Sri Lankan i would have liked it a bit hotter but the curries were delicious. Thanks really good service too. Very friendly staff.

The fire was huge, the welcome friendly, and the bar man patiently answered all our questions. The salads were superb, while Irene and I had fish and chips - beautifully cooked in fresh oil with a very light batter. Plus the fish were in 3 fillets, rather than one large hunk. Kitchen staff ate their late lunch just as we... More

This country pub is at the edge of a tiny settlement. From the outside it already oozes country charm and character but once you are inside you wonder how this worm and inviting place ever came into being in such a remote place. The food is good, sometimes great, the prices reasonable, the serves generous. What is more surprising is... More
