Me and my fiancé came here to try the Sunday carvery. We didn't know what to expect but was both blown away with the quality and tasty food. Meat was really nice full of flavour and no fat. Good choice of potatoes mash or roasts and brilliant choice of veg. Really good to see the new owners running the place... More

To be honest, the kitchen staff were very polite, the lady behind the bar was lovely. Never been in before, nice place, nice little spot opposite the church, good car park, opened the door and it was colder inside that it was out. The fire was lit and it was bang on 12 so they had just opened to be... More

Pub very old fashioned and dreary, food ok but just had lunchtime specials. Small portions but just big enough for us! Wouldn't go again unless it was totally repainted and modernised.

Took my mum for lunch the other Friday. The food was absolutely lovely. All home cooked with proper homemade chips & very reasonably priced. The staff were helpful & friendly & the pub itself is a super proper old fashioned country pub. Had a lovely look round the church opposite dating back to 1295! Would go back tomorrow!

Back to what it used to be. A place that you can get a decent sized steak for a reasonable price. A good traditional village pub with a good choice of beer. Hardworking, friendly staff. Dogs welcome.

Visited for first time in years. Not disappointed in any aspect. Good choice on menu. Food was excellent, all 4 different mains and desserts we had were very enjoyable. The staff were friendly. The pub is a village pub so not the 'poshest' place but we all felt comfortable and at ease. Definitely one for our regular visit list.

We have waited two years for someone to make this little gem what it should be and now it is. Food is great, good value and quick. Lots of great beer and a real buzz about the place. The archetypal english local. Great stuff.

Absolutely outstanding, was recommended by a lot of people in & around Monks Kirby. Vibrant & busy, friendly family atmosphere. We definitely going again...Not just saying that course I am their postman. It's a 10 out of 10 from us. Excellent
