Excellent food

After reading some of the reviews I was a little sceptical of visiting the Amid Palace. It soon became clear that I needn't have worried. We have been visiting here on and off for the last 20 years but haven't been for a year or so. The waiters were very attentive and the food can only be described as stunning. Presentation/taste, could not fault anything. Yes, the toilets are dated as described in some of the reviews (I can only comment on the mens) but they were clean so no worries there. We liked it so much we are visiting again next week :)

Firast Indian meal for my Dad

We visited on a Monday evening, and it was my Dad's first ever trip to an Indian restaurant, at the lovely age of 81. The staff and ambience were lovely, and although service was sporadically a little slow, the food was spot on. The waitress didn't know much about the food (had to check what the content of the seafood platter was; didn't know about spice levels) but she was helpful anyway. The other staff were more knowledgeable and also happy to change spice levels to suit the beginner! I'm a spice fanatic and they offered to increase the heat of mine. The waiters dropped over a couple of times to make sure we were happy and that we had enough food. The curries were fantastic and did not bear the "ring of shame" trademark oil slick that I dread seeing! Very nice menu too, with some specials plus some unusual side dish options such as lemon rice with chickpeas. Nice presentation of starters, and good price for the wine. Would definitely go back when next in the area.

Good quality Indian food served with a twist of imagination

Been here a number of times and been continually impressed with the quirky twists they put on there food, staff here always very helpful and friendly, my latest visit was some popadoms, and a nice cold bottle of bangla lager. My starter was a delicious cold chickpea salad, with a delicious amount of spice, refreshing and spicy at the same time, for mains I enjoyed a chicken tikka and some garlic rice, everything is served beautifully, excellent meal, and will visit again. I enjoyed a 2nd beer and the meal was just over £25.00. Would have been a 5 but the chicken tikka had a couple of tough bits on the dish.

Only half full, if that, so it was a toned down atmosphere, but good enough. My wife had the traditional menu, 3 courses, as was my Indian choice. My lamb handi mains was excellent and my wife said her turkey was good at a price of £29.95pp.

Called before coming in to ensure they weren’t too busy as partner needed to get to work quick. The place was quiet with two families in. We got seated straight away. Waited for the waiter to come which in the end I had to flag him down. Finally managed to place the order with them. Waited a further 20mins with no luck of any drinks coming out let alone food! Although there was a table behind us who came in after us and got seated and served with drinks straight away!!! My partner had a long day and wanted some hot food before going into work for his late shift, we were so disappointed with the service, no drinks, or food after waiting around 20/30 mins we ended up walking straight back out!! No apology, no questions asked! Not even explanation of why our drinks of lemonade and orange juice didn’t come out to us !!! Definitely not worth it as customer we just got dismissed

Ordered our takeaway as usual via the Just eat app. A little while after our dinner should of arrived the delivery driver called us to apologise as he got stuck where an accident had happened nearby so couldn’t get to us and was running late, Izzy said he would communicate with Amid Palace to let them know what had happened. Our dinner arrived shortly after and not at the drivers fault it was just luke warm, also a dish was missing, a quick call back to Izzy and he apologised and said he would speak with the restaurant to see about another meal/order being made and to be delivered, the restaurant then called to check the situation and was more than happy to sort our order for us asap. Then calling us when it was on it’s way, absolutely brilliant customer service that in my eyes although a mishap of a meal, went above and beyond to make us happy and even extras thrown in too. To clarify in all the times we’ve used Amid Palace we’ve never had a problem before and after today will still continue to use them. Thanks Emma x

Nuneaton’s best kept secret

Just been to the newly re-opened Amid Palace on the A444 at Bermuda, absolutely fabulous food, if their spiced Tandoori chicken was served up in Knightsbridge you would rave over it and be happy to pay £30 a serving. Their food is special, I do not know the owner or the chef but they must listen to what their customers say and what is offered is a superb hybrid of Indian food for the British taste buds. Treat yourself and go to the Amid Palace before it gets discovered by the Foodies.

A hidden gem of a restaurant

Thursday is one of the nights where there is a choice of 3 courses for the amazing price of £9.95. The quality of the food, wonderful presentation and friendly service was impressive. I pass this place often and cant believe this is my first visit. I will definitely return as this is now my new favourite Indian. Highly recommended. .Thankyou

We discovered this gem by chance and it will be our go to place from now on. We ordered spinach dumplings, sheek kebab, lamb staff curry, traditional chicken byriani and a stuffed keema naan and it was faultless. The staff were friendly and attentive; anticipating drink orders and doing table food checks without it feeling over the top. My only moan is that we have not discovered this place before now!

Fantastic food, brilliant service - go-to curry house in Nuneaton

The 3 of us went to Amid Palace last week and I was blown away with how good the meal was. The gentleman serving us could not have been more attentive and helpful, he was a credit to the restaurant. We had poppadoms to start and they are generous with the chutneys/pickles. I went for a chicken tikka balti with mushroom rice and garlic naan. Plenty of meat in the curry, portions sizes of a decent size, the flavours were popping off and it was one of the nicest curries I've had in a long time. Amid Palace will now be my go to curry house in Nuneaton - definitely recommended !

Went here for my birthday on March 20. It was the last night before pubs and restaurants were closed down and there were only a couple of other tables occupied. We have been here on and off for the last 10 years and have always generally had a nice meal. Tonight was no exception. We started off with poppadoms and the pickle tray. Not bad but no lime pickle unless you paid extra, which was a disappointment. For starters we had Chicken Tikka which was tasty and well presented. Mains, I had the Korai which was very nice,plenty of chicken and just the right amount of spice. My wife had the Pasanda which she said was a bit bland in taste to others she has had. The pershwari naan and mushroom rice were fine. All washed down with a few bottles of Bangla. Service was nice and polite. We will be back when it opens again.

Great food, some staff need to be more friendly

Our recent visit was a mixed experience. The place seems to be in the middle of being decorated and some walls not finished. The staff were not very friendly or happy. We were seated at our table and seemed to be ignored, it was quite a while before we even got a menu or order a drink. The staff then came and took our napkins away, we have no idea why. When we finally got our food it was excellent, very well presented, tasty lovely and was plentiful. We had no complaints with the food. We would visit again but just hope the staff are more friendly and welcoming.

Awful

Awful just awful, had many meals from here for years and food has been fantastic. However 2 hours after ordering our meals have not been delivered, I spoke to the restaurant and the driver who said the road is closed which clearly isn't true. After the meal had been out for delivery for 30 minutes the driver stated that the meal looked warm!!! Only interested in meals ordered through just eat..... Avoid if you are hungry

We take immense pride with our service and the quality of our dishes, and it’s truly disheartening to hear that you did not get the chance to consume the meal. Having considered the situation, we issued a full refund. We understand that timely delivery is essential, and we fell short in this regard. We are taking this incident seriously and will be reviewing our delivery processes to ensure that such delays are minimised in the future. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Once again, I’m sorry for the inconvenience you experienced, and we hope to have the chance to regain your trust in the future.

Food is great but prices have increased on average 50% My usual delivery was £23 now it’s £35 . Sorry Amid palace I cannot justify paying so much more for a takeaway. I’m now a reluctant ex customer.

My partner and I visited on Friday 3rd September 2021. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced (£47 for poppadoms/pickle tray, 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, bread and two soft drinks). The service was fairly quick and very courteous. We are not from the local area but would not hesitate to visit again if we ever return.
