Its partly the setting, almost hidden in the trees but on the Greensand Way, partly the beers, partly the authentically old interior, partly the food but mostly the feeling that you are sitting somewhere away from it all if you get an outside table. There's a welcome gazebo in the back if its raining or hot and its well worth... More

10 members of Peter's Lunch Club went there today and we were all impressed by the quality of the food, the friendly service and general ambience. If there was an adverse comment it was that the puddings were well priced up but those of us who indulged were well satisfied. For myself, the fish pie was to drool over -... More

Stopped here en route for lunch as saw on tripadvisor it was a dog friendly pub. It's in a nice location tucked away and therefore quiet, it was a warm day so we sat outside at a wooden picnic table. Extensive menu which will cater for all and food is reasonably priced, inside there was a good selection of ales... More

Booked a table for 6 plus a dog. Lovely little room which could seat 8 was delightful. Just the spot with two children and a boisterous dog. The waitress was extremely helpful and although there is no children's menus they do do smaller portions. They were also able to satisfy a fussy child with just pasta in butter, great so... More

Visited the Skim on Saturday afternoon with family for lunch without booking in advance. Inside was very busy with both drinkers and diners (which is always nice to see), so we moved out back into what was formerly a partially shaded decking. It has now been completely covered in glass and perspex, and as such now has a similar effect... More

A group of us from our local Triumph Motorcycle Club attended for snacks after an evening run, a few of us attended a couple of days previous to check arrangements, the pub laid on a nice selection, I would definitely recommend going there for a meal at anytime, friendly and helpful staff.

We booked a table at the skim for a Friday night meal.Unfortunately the whole evening was ruined by a large crowd of young children. The food was average and a cheap bottle of wine expensive. Thankfully as locals we will use another pub nearby.

Sadly I think the castle has too many customers now and new staff that just are not capable of the constant quality that I have come accustomed too over the last couple of years. So sadly I have to give u guys a honest bad review :( please get ya staff and kitchen crew up to standards. My £22 fillet... More

This pub is one of the gems of Reigate, in an area thick with great walks and scenery, it's nice to stop for one of their great beers on tap, dogs welcome, and a reasonable menu to suit most tastes, would have given five stars but road leading to it is appalling, large deep potholes and unmarked "speed bumps" will take its... The Skim does amazing roast dinners. Bring your appetite because they are huge! Booking is essential on a Sunday and don't plan anything for afterwards because you'll be too stuffed to move! I especially love that they are nice and generous with the quantity of gravy.
