Even though this is the closest pub to home, I have put off eating at The Fox, until now, due to feedback from friends and the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a table booked for 6.30 and had a very friendly welcome. All of the staff were attentive throughout our meal. However, the food....the food....what can I say?... More

The Fox has recently been refurbished and it really does look lovely. We had dinner there with a friend and the food was delicious, but a little slow to come out. The only thing I object to is paying £4.50 for a serving of fresh veg, or chips. And interestingly on the night the cheapest dish, chicken stew, had sold... More

Lovely comfortable, spotlessly clean surroundings. Cheerful welcome and excellent service. Starters of Calamari were clearly home made not frozen pap. Roasts (1 adult beef, 1 adult chicken, kids beef, kids lamb) beautifully cooked and wonderfully presented with excellent selection of a least 6 vegetables. My wife's Sunday roast is unbeatable but this runs a decent second.

I arranged a dinner at the Fox Inn recently for a large number of my colleagues to attend. The service I received (from the Director Matt) when arranging the night was superb, nothing was too much trouble. It was agreed that we could have exclusive use of the top floor of the restaurant and the set menu provided for the... More

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful 5 course dinner with a different glass of wine with each course. The evening was paced perfectly so the enjoyment of each course could be savoured. The food was beautifully cooked and presented (great Chef), and a short explanation about each wine was provided by the wine connoisseur. The staff were very attentive and... More

Three tv screens in the downstairs bar areas really?? Newly refurbished but lacks warmth and feels more like an airport lounge. The upstairs is a great idea but is a nightmare to access so we opted to sit downstairs. Now to the food which is what we are actually reviewing. It is just as awful as under the previous ownership.... More

Hello Foodies987, Thank you for taking the time to review...an interesting review you have made. May I ask what was it you ordered and at what time? Previous constructive feedback from customers highlighted the training of staff, as you know when everyone is new it takes time, since putting in a training programe at the turn of the year. Since... Just had a lovely dinner at The Fox. There were five of us and all of us enjoyed our food. The waiting staff whilst young and new were very polite and we enjoyed a little banter with them. We all ate different things and we were all very happy. One of the owners... Matthew was very friendly, often checked everything... More

Weird, disjointed dinner with staff who didn't really know what was happening. Great decor, plenty of parking and ok food. One of our dinners was amazing, the other was dreadful. They are new so hopefully they will fix the problems as it is well located.

We've been told that this was a fairly ordinary pub but that it had undergone a really good makeover and last Sunday we went there and can confirm they've done a really good job. We had Sunday lunch and it was first class. Lots of lovely vegetables and the roast beef was plentiful and good and rare - not overdone.... More
