We pooped into the Ramblers for an impromptu lunch and it was lovely, A really nice woodland location, great food (I had the home made tomato soup) and excellent service. It got very busy though so would recommend booking at weekends and peak times, school holidays etc.

Had a very unpleasant experience there today. I walked 1.5 hrs to get to the Ramblers Retreat as I had checked their opening hours and it was showing on their website as 'Open Today'. I had planned to have lunch there with my dog, there was a sign outside sadly saying that due to a family funeral they were closed... More

Well worth a visit. The food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly. A lovely place to take the family. The gardens are very nice and when the weather is good you can sit outside to eat your meal.

As always the food at Ramblers Retreat was lovely and the setting is fabulous. A lovely warm sunny day so we were outside in the gardens. The area is very special to us. We have been going there for over 20 years and it only ever improves. Long may they continue.

Excellent meal enjoyed by the three of us. We all decided on the pie of the day, beef in ale with extra vegetables. Mouthwateringly good and a good sized portion. For sweet two of us had the renowned lemon merangue and one can see how it attained such a status. A man size portion yet light and delicate as a... More

Without question a beautiful location. The venue for us doesn't live up to the surroundings. The food and drink is very average and somewhat highly priced. It really is worth travelling for the scenery but not so much for the venue.

Very scenic Waited over 15 mins in the queue outside to place an order despite only two people being in front of me. Then was told would have to wait 30 mins for food but that because it was soup it would be muchfaster. Went back around then and still had to wait for longer - them the soup and... More

After a lovely walk with our two dogs we called in for a coffee, and was amazed by the lovely garden to sit in under gazebos with our dogs, inside looked lovely as well, prices are reasonable and the lemon meringue was just amazing. Will definitely be visiting again soon, to try lunch or breakfast.

Lovely place to relax after a walk in the grounds. 2 cakes ordered and some hot drinks, very prompt service from the staff. Will be returning in the warmer months!
